Dictating unsafe repairs with counterfit parts by their unlincensed adjusters. Over chargeing for policy.

By far the worst third party insurance claims company / department to deal with (Cunningham Lindsey). In December 2013, after being a loyal customer with Scottish & York (Aviva Group) in excess of six years, I was involved in an accident which resulted in my first claim. Shortly after the claim was submitted, I was informed by my insurance broker that the driver of the vehicle (my husband) was going to be faulted for the accident because it was a single vehicle collision and someone has to be accountable for the claim; even though the accident was determined by the OPP police officer who attended the scene of the accident to be weather related. Likewise, I was also advised that as a result my premium could increase up to 30% upon renewal even though neither my husband or I have had an accident in the past. Needless to say, I was not happy; I was further informed at the time that my $500 deductible would be reduced to $200, which I could not comprehend given the fact that I was told my husband was at fault for the collision. None of it made sense, and when I pursued the matter no one was able to explain the reasoning behind the reduction in my deductible. After a week and a half, I was contacted my an individual who identified himself as a claims supervisor from Cunningham Lindsey. He then proceeded to inform me that the cash value on my truck was $10,000 which I immediately disagreed with, followed by asking on what grounds was this cash valued determined because I had done some extensive research into my vehicle's average asking price with several comparisons and all listed my particular model of vehicle for a minimum of $3,000 more than he had suggested. He then presented his first offer, including taxes and subtracting my deductible based on this cash value, which I refused outright. I refused his offer and submitted numerous supporting documentations of listed vehicles for my particular model of truck, Canadian Black Book average asking price, my original purchase agreement from the purchase date of the truck and receipts for the upgrades made to the vehicle after the purchase date. A few days later, I was again contacted by the claims supervisor and presented a second offer which was an increase of approximately $382.13 from his original offer. Ultimately, I refused his second offer when he began to bully and pressure me into accepting his offer by indicating that I would need to provide a name / report by my personal appraiser which outlines the value of my vehicle and I had seven days in which this had to be done or he would consider my file closed. At this stage, I contacted my insurance broker (Smart Coverage Insurance) and was told that they cannot assist me or get involved in this matter. My next course of action was to request my claim escalated which the claims supervisor completely ignored, in fact there has been no acknowledgement or email reply regarding my escalation request to the next level of management. Instead, I received an email stating that he would be waiting for the name and report from my personal appraiser in this matter. I would certainly recommend that people are aware of Cunningham Lindsey and the insurance companies like Aviva that utilize their services. This is a grave disservice for long standing clients and it would not be out of ordinary if many more clients revoke their business, like I most certainly will following such an experience.
