Most poorly trained and incompetent bank staff I've ever had the experience with. I ordered a Scotiabank Amex online which showed up at the branch and notified by email. I go to this branch. The front desk lady (by far the worst in this story) sends me home saying they need to call me "so don't come in until we do". MORE than a month later I received no calls. I call head office and ask what's going on. They're not sure why she sent me home as it's a very "simple process". That I can pick it up next time I go in. So I go back. SHE SENDS ME HOME AGAIN. Saying they are waiting on documents. Not specifying what documents, and from who. I call head office who tells me THE CARD WAS ACTIVATED FROM WHEN I WENT TO THE BRANCH THE FIRST TIME. How is this possible? Who activated it? The same woman at the branch states she has the card in her hand so no one has activated it, she's not sure why head office said that. Head office and the branch are telling me several contradictory things and refuse to actually communicate with each other. So now I'm sitting at home almost two months later with no card and communication from the branch. I then get a call from head office saying the documents which are missing is my income verification. So I need to go back and show the branch these documents. They say they don't know why the branch keeps providing me conflicting information. Terrible experience and will never get a card from Scotia again

Such a poor staff when you ask bank teller for change of coins into bills and that too for just 40 dollars and this is what they reply you like “you know what we dont have manpower to count money” and asks you to get cover of coins from dollar store.........Such a poor and disgusting service! I really felt like “what does the bank stand for in the market?” Just for taking bills!!

Worst bank I have ever have to deal with in my life! They need reliable bank managers, not people who are incompeten. I needed to get a hold lifted off my account i deposited my work cheque Saturday April 30th it's been 5 business days and it's still not removed Friday April 5th. I called the service center for them to tell me the hold wont be lifted until Monday April 8th that's 10 DAYS! So they try to contact my branch at 2pm the gentlemen send emails and called several times, I then called the bank(islington and rexdale) one of their customer service representatives answered I told them the situation and he said their to busy to deal with me. By this time its 3pm I call back at 4pm no one knows where any of their bank managers are there no where to be found. I call back again at 5pm still nothing left voicemails for all the bank managers to call with no call back. 6pm call again they turn off their phones and I get automatically sent to the calling center and they try getting a hold of my branch until 7:45pm and they still refused to get back to me or them or anyone THEY DIDNT CLOSE UNTIL 8PM TODAY THATS 6 HOURS AND MY SITUATION STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED! They act like my hard earned money is theirs and they can do what ever they want, leaving me helpless and unable to have access to my money!!!!! I am a single mom of 2 young children and work every damn day to what not be able to have access to my money to go to the grocery store and buy food to make for dinner!!!!!!!

This is the worst branch of Scotiabank I have ever visited. The customer service was poor and the wait time inline to see a teller is horrendous. The overall appearance of the branch both inside and outside needs a facelift, totally run down like the Islington area. I would never go back there!

I love this branch! The women who assisted me were very courteous, kind and professional. The teller and I think it was her manager or shift supervisor, helped me fix my account! I also love that this branch is open until 8pm! I think the key to getting great service is to be courteous and respectful to the tellers, because they will be courteous and respectful back to you. I also think it helps to make sure you know what questions to ask, know what your issue is because the tellers are not mind readers. The better you understand your needs then the more the tellers can help you, within reason.
