I love banking with Tangerine! I lost my card and while it was a trip to come to North York to replace it, I got a free parking voucher, and the staff were super friendly, accommodating, and even had a great sense of humour. I don't understand where these poor reviews are coming from - my experience has been nothing but excellent.

I applied for a new chequing account based on my son recommendation. I went into the Tangerine location on Steele in Toronto and presented all the documents they asked for. My account was put on hold since day one and it has been a non stop request for documents to prove my SIN. I have provided a copy of my Notice of Assessment, a copy of my driver licence, a copy of my SIN card, a copy of my tax return, and all of that is not enough I keep getting calls from Tangrine asking for a T4 and T5. I do not work and I am not retired how would I provide such info. I am going back to TD, way better service non of the BS

UPDATE:. the "whoops!" Was replaced with a higher overdraft so it's all good. The updated mobile website is intuitive and easy to use. I still have my Tangerine account and I still use it _____________________________ I've had my account for a number of months and I did like it very much, to the point I was in the process of making it my primary account, even though their interac transfers take *forever* to go through. Unfortunately, they have done away with what was, for me, *the* selling point: the "whoops!" Protection. Now it's just regular overdraft and I have to apply to get it. If I could get overdraft, i'd already have overdraft on my regular account. They claim now that it was a "privilege" they extended. That's not what they said when i signed up. It was a feature and at no time did they say it could be taken away. I'm not an MBA, but when they advertise something as a "feature", that's not a privilege. I feel like I've been taken. I mean, what's next - the introduction of a " minimal " monthly fee? Sure, my real bank account costs an arm and a leg but at least I know what I'm getting.

Was a little more time consuming to switch than I thought it would be, but extremely happy with their service in getting it completed. Their online account interface is easy to use and understand, and you can't go wrong with no fee banking!

I have been with tangerine/ING direct for a long time. Have never had any issues. The only regret I have is that in the old days they allowed international incoming transfers and now they don't; considering they are now part of Scotiabank I think it will be good to provide that service as well, even if at a fee.
