Not impressed I was misinformed and not fully informed on opening acct, glad I rang BMO online and got given the truth. No pin no was given either. Terrible.

I went to the bank on July 26th to deposit a government cheque for a little over $1000. Now I’ve been a customer with BMO for about 8 years. I’m new to the area. The branch here said they’d need to hold my cheque for 7 business days. I asked for only $150 out of my cheque and they told me they couldn’t give me any due to a lot of fraud in the area. I then asked for $100 which they said no, then asked for even $50 from my cheque which they than said no. My account has been in good standing so I don’t understand. Anyways I called BMO over the phone and found it that BMOs policy is to release $300 immediately while the rest of the cheque is on hold which this bank did not follow! BMO over the phone released it immediately today which is 3 days since I cashed the cheque. So I’m not sure if the way the bank treated me was a racial issue saying that fraud is being done because I’m black which btw they stated that I’m not even from “around here”. But I was very upset. Doesn’t matter where I’m from I’m a customer and you didn’t follow protocol.

This bank needs personality get some aggressive customer service reps who look alive who want to be there and who represent BMO the bank wax customer service people look what they don’t want to be there and I find that the tellers like looking at the account information I’m going to certain screens they don’t need to be in there’s something wrong there bank manager wake up inject some business into your establishment or close your doors I think I might have to go to TD where they’re forwarding banking

It seemed good at first, but now I'm not so happy and will be looking for a new bank. The reason is because BMO has banned its clients from purchasing crypto currency. Scared much? I can make investments threw the bank but why do I want to get ripped off with the bank fees when I am happy to invest my money in crypto and take care of my own trades and investments. 🤔🤨
