My uncle went in earlier today in the morning, was attended with amazing POC, went home , turns out he he was locked out of his account, he went back in the afternoon & had to deal with a racist white woman that treated him like a criminal. He says the initial teller was nice & needed confirmation from her manager who came out without a word, grabbed his license and passport & scratched it infront of him to imply it was fake - he said, embarrassed that yes it was an original - the miserable supervisor didn't direct a word to him at all, she looked at the teller & gave her the validation. This experience has left him feeling incredibly dehumanized. This is incredibly unprofessional I will be helping him find a new bank because no one deserves to feel like that. She thinks because my uncle has an accent that he's in this country alone, she is poorly mistaken & I will be taking this to head office.

Unfortunately, had a very bad and rather embarrassing experience this evening. I trusted this TD branch to conduct my business as I needed to come withdraw some cash for a vehicle purchase. The branch manager was not helpful I was denied my full transaction. I was instead fed a very mediocre lie about the branch not having enough cash to fulfill my withdrawal. Sent away to try a different branch 10 minuted before closing time and outright disrespected and embarrassed in front of the rest of the customers. Not to mention the manager’s handling of my driver’s licence as if it was counterfeit, after I had passed all the security questions in regards to my account with 100% accuracy. I am a heavily pregnant, and had to drag my two young children after daycare pick up to make it to the bank after I was done work to withdraw the cash for my vehicle’s pick up date the next day. I did not need to be embarrassed in this way.

Terrible experience with Natasha. The services you offer are replaceable with technology, so your attitude is everything. Do better Natasha, you don’t have the facilities to act so entitled.

June 27 update: As requested by the TD bank response to my original post below, I emailed their customer support on June 14. Their response… silence. Why am I again surprised?! Why bother replying to my original review? Original Review from June 13/14, 2022 I have had an extremely long history with the TD Bank for most of my adult years. 90% of this relationship has been a positive one but every once in awhile there are significant potholes. Today I met with a mortgage specialist to discuss my current variable rate mortgage. She was very professional and we had a very productive and informative discussion. To my surprise, she informed me that if I were to switch to a fixed rate mortgage at TD, I would not have to pay the penalty to break my current variable rate mortgage. Why was I surprised? Because when I looked into this matter at the very same branch some four to five months previously, I was told by another specialist that I WOULD have to pay the penalty. Based on that previous information, I decided to stay with my variable rate mortgage. Needless to say, this will cost me quite a bit of money over the next few years. Worst of all, there is no recourse. People make their financial decisions based upon advice and information given by specialist at their bank. If they cannot rely on this information, then where do they / we stand? Whenever I speak to a so-called mortgage specialist at my bank, am I supposed to make three or four separate appointments to speak to three or four separate people in order to verify the information I've been given? Or is my financial planning just based on the luck of the draw? Today, I spoke with someone who knew the facts, and last time I was not so lucky!

I have never, ever, written a review for a bank because they’ve never cared enough. However, when I needed help at a point where our banking needs were not being met, we had a one-on-one with Alia A. Alia : ) took the time to understand our needs, what our problems were, and what she can do to make things right. I had questions that required an outside the box perspective and the diligence to see it through, no matter what. Alia made sure to respond to my phone calls in a timely manner and responded to my emails promptly amidst the pandemic. I had given up with TD as a whole and was in the process of moving my business elsewhere –where I would be valued and cared for. When we met with Alia, she was humble, kind, caring, sweet, transparent, smart, and most of all treated my wife and I as family. Her communication skills combined with her demeanour made all the difference in the world. We walked away with a smile and talked about her level of service on our long car ride home. TD should be proud to have a person like that on their side. Alia made such a great impression that she has earned our business 10 times over and that of our friends and family. In a day and age where people just don’t care for one another, it is nice to see that Alia represents the ideal banker that any customer would be lucky to have. I also wanted to say thank you to the branch manager, Peter who assisted us in our banking needs and passing on our feedback to Alia. Alia, we thank you.
