I opened a small business account here. The bank has never once answered the phone when I call they always shuffle me to the call center which takes minimum 20min. When I opened the account my one requirement was that I would not pay a monthly account fee as I keep large amounts of cash in the bank at all times and use almost no services. They promised that they could meet those requirements as long as I kept a minimum balance (I generally kept 4-5 times the minimum balance). Well first month comes and they charged me monthly fee, they promised it was an error and fixed it, then made the same mistake again and again every month. After almost a year of this they said that they actually could not meet my one requirement of opening an account there, then just started burying me in fees. Now these are not large amounts of money compared to what I had sitting in the account, but business accounts offer almost no interest (0.5%) so they are making a tidy profit from my money so why should I pay them for the privilege of making them money. No wonder Scotia Bank is doing poorly compared to the other banks when they give up thousands of dollars in interest because they won't comp my 150$ in account fees. I'm switching to a bank where they care about keeping me as a customer.

Poor customer service, it’s especially bad when you leave voicemails for the branch manager and your calls are still not returned. Great leadership.
