The branch manager here dealt with my wife’s credit card issue like a complete amateur/buffoon. Curt, rude, and unprofessional. Zero listening skills and a complete disappointment. He seemed more concerned with his ego than problem solving. Although disappointed, Scotia Corporate solved the problem and rectified the turbulence. They must take more time to train their staff (specifically this branch manager) and learn the skills of problem solving and spinning things in a respectful positive manner. If Corporate was able to solve this issue within a day or two, the branch needs to shake the attitude and be professionally responsible and helpful.

Be aware of discrimination if you are a foreigner. I called the 1800 number to ask if they exchanged Brazilian real and they told me YES. They also told me that I don't need an account to do it. When I got to the branch the story changed. The manager refused to exchange the money unless I had an account with them and told me that even if they exchanged I would have to wait several days to confirm if the bills were legit. It was a clear case of discrimination. Her ton of voice and the look on her face were very discriminatory. To think I use to have a loan with them in the past makes me sick from my stomach.
