Very inclusive environment that enables all athletes from all walks of life to pursue their fitness goals. Staff are highly qualified and friendly!!! Would definitely recommend to all UBC students and Staff as well as of those who live in the area!!!

They keep increasing my membership price every year. They assure me every time that I'm getting a 'great' deal since I'm 'paying half' of what is offered by standard. Yeah sure, if you keep artificially increasing your base rate to fool your customers into believing they're getting a great deal. Sick of your scummy business practices and refused to renew my membership today.

Decent gym if you manage to avoid the scams. BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES! Also, it's a bit of a judgmental environment for newcomers.

Buyer Beware!!!! The salesperson told me that Gold's Gym didn't have 1-month membership or no monthly pay (bi-weekly) even, so he encouraged us to do prepay our membership and we could cancel if we move away. My husband had to move back home (China) for work and we contacted their front desk in regards to cancellation and refund. First, no form to fill out!!! Second, "Go send an email to SANFANA." (a name was written on the card, not a printed business, no phone number, no services, so UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!) Fine, I sent her an email! Guess what?! All I get is According to our cancellation and refund policy, pay in full membership cannot be REFUND!!! Take a look, it is in their agreement: (ii) a material change in the circumstances of the Member including: death; physical, medical or mental disability substantiated in writing by a medical practitioner demonstrating that the Member’s continued participation is unreasonable; or the relocation of the Member for the remainder of the Membership Agreement whereby the distance between the Member and GGPOCO INVESTMENTS LIMITED PARTNERSHIP or it’s affiliates is more than 30 KM provided that GGPOCO INVESTMENTS LIMITED PARTNERSHIP cannot provide a reasonably comparable alternative facility not more than 30 km from the Member’s new location; If we moved more than 30 KM, I am sure China is more than 30 KM from BC. We cannot cancel and get our refund!!!!!!! What a joke!!! Instead ofdo helping us, they said, we have to "SELL" our agreement to anyone who can buy and PAY another $50 fee to do transfer!!!!!!! Guess what?????? We did find a friend who is willing to take over the membership. We go ask one of the salespeople how to handle this. He mentioned only GM, JOEL can handle the transfer. We showed up during his working hour and it was the SERVICE we received. "NO APPOINTMENT, NO TRANSFER!!!" I am sorry it was the 3rd time we visit this club and we have "babies and young ones" to take care of it. I believe it is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. My friend is no longer willing to take over the membership after such inhuman TREATMENT!!! GOLD'S GYM just doesn't care about their members!!!! Now they have another gym opening in Vancouver! Be careful! don't buy their membership as they suck to make you PAY Full

They had a really crappy GM back then. They kept over-charging my mom for their membership. She had to go to the bank at least once a month to get her refund. To her surprise, when she went to get her refund for the first time, the bank already knew about this matter. Now, the GM has changed and the place is amazing. The staff is super friendly and very understanding. I didn't think it could change this much but it did. Definitely recommend this gym.
