Into my sixth year studying under Grand Master Yu. I’m typically there four to five days a week, and under Grand Master’s guidance and encouragement I have progressed from White (beginner) to 2nd Dan Black Belt. Thanks to Grand Master Yu’s teaching style, including focusing on your natural abilities and encouraging you to push yourself, I’ve dropped over 40 pounds of fat and my health has improved incredibly. At almost 59, I’m fitter than I was at 30. His unique approach of focusing on his adult, family and child students as individuals, while holding everybody to his high standards, is wonderful to watch and study under.

I started Taekwondo originally back in Mexico City where I almost achieved my black belt. When I moved to calgary I quit and I didn't train until I met Grand Master Yu at work. His consistency and dedication towards me woke up the passion I've always had for Taekwondo. After practicing there for 5 years under Master James' classes I'm currently second dan black belt and about to marry my other half who is also a black belt from Yu's school as well! Highly recommended !
