Overall great experience at EC, wonderful staff too! Kristen had to re-do a shellac pedicure for me and did a fantastic job. Her attention to detail and easy going personality made the whole experience well worth it for me. I will certainly be recommending her and book back in the future with her! Thanks to Carol as well for booking be in quickly!

The manager Carol is completely negligent. Terrible customer service. I was in on April 6 to have a few highlights added just to the top of my hair to break it up and brighten for summer. I didn't end up with what I asked for and on top of that, my hair was toned ORANGE. The young stylist doing my hair was very nice, we just weren't on the same page. I waited a few to days to make sure I wasn't overreacting, called the salon to speak with the manager to see if I could come back in to fix the problem. I had events and photos coming up - which is why I had my hair done in the first place. She never called me back. After a few more days, and a few more phone calls and messages I still haven't heard a thing. I gave them a chance to correct their wrong and they can't even manage to do that. What a waste of $300.

Finding a good hairstyles is tough. I've been going to EvelineCharles for over 8 years, Prolly more, I had tried different salons during that time as well. But I always end up coming back here. The type of hair I have is very thick, coarse and full, so I'm very picky at who can touch my hair. ATM, My hairstylist is Lacy at south edmonton common and she is phenomenal! Lacy has passion in what she do. You can feel her energy and see it in her eyes. She is super friendly and easy to talk to. She takes her time and listens to you. She doesn't do more or less, it's exactly the way u want Ur hair to be done. I never had a bad experience with this company or with any of the hairstylist there in my past. I definitely recommend giving this place a chance and ask for her. She is very professional and very skilled.

Disappointing visit to the South Common location today. Technician was running 20 minutes late, she was very apologetic so I could probably have gotten past it BUT the microdermabrasion session I had was "nothing" like the one I had previously when the Southgate location was still open. Maybe lasted 30 minutes, none of the pampering (dim lighting, relaxing music, facial creams). Maybe the package has changed but I can get what I had today almost anywhere else for 1/2 the price.

Worst hair cutting experience of my life. Do NOT recommend Tiffany. Called Eveline Charles to make an appt. Mentioned two names (Tiffany and Christina) b/c my sister had gone the week prior and said Tiffany cut her hair but also noticed a girl name Christina that seemed pretty good. Person on the line said Christina was a more "experienced stylists" so her rate was higher. Tiffany was a "junior stylist and is really good" and her rate was $40 something. When I saw that my sister's hair cut was decent (just a straight cut), I booked with Tiffany. Same rate I usually pay anyways. I met Tiffany (although not a very pleasant hello was given) and showed her pictures of the style I was going for. I specifically asked if this was something she could do. She replied, "the girls in the pictures have different lighting and their hair is styled in a specific way [etc.] but we can do something similar to it". So I thought, "this girl knows what she's talking about". I showed her the length I wanted (right above my chest line) and would like layers so it was fun and summery. She asked if I still wanted to be able to put my hair up and I said yes. She does a dry cut and chops off a little bit longer length in the hair than I wanted. Said this gives a bit of extra room to work with. Fine with me. After hair wash, she's cutting away and then asked, "what did they quote you when you called?". She then says, "my base rate is $45 but you have a lot of hair so I'm going to charge you an extra $20.". Red flag number one. And because I didn't want the rest of the appt to be awkward, I decided to stay calm and will talk about it after. It actually made me quite upset because: 1) when I booked the appointment, I was never asked how long my hair was or told there would be an additional charge 2) my sister went in the week prior, chopped of 10 inches and she only paid the $40 something 3) I have never had a hair salon say they will charge me extra cause I have long hair 4) if that was the case then I would've booked at another hair salon with someone who was more experienced She keeps cutting my hair and I have no idea what she is doing with layering. I have never seen it done her way before. I thought, maybe this is new and it'll turn out okay. As she's cutting, the length of my hair keeps getting shorter and shorter and by the time she blow dries, my hair is shorter than my shoulders (NOT what I wanted). She also didnt know how to properly hold the comb and ended up dropping it. Red flag number two. When she turned me around and I looked in the mirror, I had a huge horizontal indent in the middle of my head. The layers were horrifying and not blended through. Red flag number three. She tried to fix it and kept cutting more of my hair off. I'm almost in tears and having a nervous breakdown. She got me to look again, and this time one side of indent was higher than the other. I told her it was still not blended at all. She said, "ya I see what you're talking about but I don't know why it's doing that. Let me see if Heather can come have a look because I don't want to cut into it anymore.". I have never had a hair stylist have to bring in someone higher level to fix what they did. BIG red flag number four. Heather came, fixed one side, showed me the difference and I said yes it was better (not great, but better). Heather shows Tiffany what she's doing and explaining things and Tiffany says, "oh I have never done that, I'll have to try that on a mannequin.". If she doesn't know what she's doing, why is she working there? Why isn't she still in school to train more? Now, I have super short hair, I can't put it in a pony tail, and I'm out money for a hair cut that was not what I wanted. My appointment took 1.5 hours. I will never go back to Eveline Charles again.
