Marlin Travel

I had a vacation booked by marlin travel. It was amazing. My family love it so much.

I just booked activities on my own for an upcoming holiday. I loved shopping for what I wanted and being able to book my own adventure. Site was easy to navigate. Would really suggest this for those who like to do it them selves. Love being able to support local and doing it myself.

Everything went well with the purchase of flights to New Zealand as me and my partner are emigrating. Friendly staff, well explained and easy to understand... Then... My girlfriend needed an Australian transit visa, as we have a short stop there, this was to be arranged by the travel agent in the week after booking our flights. This never happened because "the computers where not working with that software" it was promised that it would be done the next week, being the week before we left. We did not hear from marlin again regarding this. I went into the store in person to see when it would be done, apparently the computers where still down. I asked if it was going to be easier if i just did it myself and was told "it would cost over $100... This is not true. A transit visa for Australia is free, as i have found out. it also takes up to 5 days to process... bit late now... Also, I forgot to mention upon booking that we are both vegetarian and would need the airlines to know this to receive the appropriate meals. i went in person to notify marlin of this. I spoke to the blonde receptionist, unsure of name, she assured me that "i will ensure that this gets to whoever needs to know of it"... I think it's pretty reasonable that i could put this out of my mind. Lowe and behold, i get to the airport to check in and the airline was never notified that we are vegetarian and they need 24-48 hours notice to change it... I do not believe that good customer service should finish when we have paid for our tickets. Follow up services were promised and not delivered. I do not know if this is common practice for customers not ordering the "profitable big trips and tours", however, i would like to think that when booking through a customer service based industry that services promised would be delivered.

It started out really good, I was just waiting on one last email to finalize a price, that was about two weeks ago, I have not received a reply from Marlin Travel. Will book my trip on my own. 😑

I have been trying to get my deposit back now since December and they will not get back to me nor will answer my calls or emails! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Still trying to get a hold of someone there.
