hair colour

I had my hair colour changed from brown to blonde and it was a disaster. The bleach had not been left in long enough and after the blonde had been applied, it was all patchy. A second blonde could not save it either and the third colour that was applied was brown. The guy's name was Alex. On top of everything he was quiet rude as I was holding up his other clients.

I don't even know where to start. I went into Malkim to talk about having some colour fixed that I had done elsewhere a few days prior. Immediately, the girl working at reception and one of the stylists where kind, considerate and did whatever they could to help. They recommended I have Mallory, who is one of the owners, do my hair. Mallory is one of the most kind people I have ever met, and in terms of a hair dresser, she is open to listening to whatever you want to have done, but will tell you if it is something that is just not realistic. She is honest about how the outcome will be, and the price was EXTREMELY reasonable. I used to pay $350+ to have the exact same thing done to my hair that I had done at Malkim. Mallory even came in on a day the studio wasn't open to make sure my hair was fixed in a timely matter. I have been on a HUNT for a good hair studio in Guelph and I will now trust Malkim and Mallory with my hair forever! I highly recommend.

5 years ago I decided that it was time to grow up and stop having random people absolutely mangle my hair by treating it like a cheap hedge in a run-down city garden. From the first second I called into Malkim the staff made me feel special and I will never go somewhere else now. Andrea and Simon are masters of their craft and are fantastic people to talk with as well. As for my hair, my mom agrees that I've never looked more handsome. If that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will.

Kate has made me love my hair again! She always has great advice and the salon has a trendy but friendly atmosphere. Been going there a few years now and couldn't imagine going anywhere else to get my hair cut.

Canâ€™t say enough good about this place. Iâ€™ve been coming here for at least 4 years. I have a LOT of hair, and usually opt for natural looking balayage blonde since itâ€™s low maintenance and I canâ€™t afford to get my hair done super frequently. Mallory, the owner, is a badass and used to do my hair before she had to focus more on their recent move. She is an insanely talented hair artist, and she is an incredible business woman and runs Malkim. She is always researching, innovative, and cares deeply about what she does. Now I get my hair done by Courtney, who is also absolutely amazing. She is a hair wizard. She took me from platinum blonde with mega dark roots to a gorgeous natural baby light blend in one go, and every time I see her I adore what she does. I honestly do not understand HOW she does it!! She isnâ€™t afraid to do fun stuff too - last time I saw her she did a sweet violet coloured temporary colour on me which I just canâ€™t get enough of. Sheâ€™s also so kind, and chill, and easy to have a conversation with. Do yourself a favour and get your hair done here - the most relaxed, down to earth, full of talent salon Iâ€™ve ever been to, very good prices, even Kelly - who will be taking your appointment and greeting you at the door (as well as everything else she does!!) is fantastic. I had the pleasure of scheduling a first-time appointment for colour with Courtney! I loved the vibe I got from the moment I first walked into the salon - the staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was undeniably welcoming. We talked about the tone I was looking to achieve, I showed her some pictures and felt immediately confident and comfortable in her vision matching with mine. I'll admit, I'm a very particular and anxious client when it comes to hair services, so the fact that she made me feel so at ease so quickly was an accomplishment in itself, lol. The entire experience was wonderful - she can hold a great convo but also gets the hint when you just want to close your eyes and zen out in silence. And the end result? AMAZING. Courtney is a true master of her craft, her work was even better than what I had envisioned and even BETTER than the photos I had shown her! She absolutely nailed it. All in all, I 110% recommend Malkim to anyone in this city and specifically Courtney for anyone looking to have their colour done! She will blow you away with her talent!!
