My son started Dan Vigil's in October of 2013 as a very timid/soft spoken 5 year old. He is now almost 7 years old and I am in awe of the confidence and maturity that he exudes after being in this program. Master Rose and Master Vigil have helped him grow as a student in martial arts and as a thoughtful, confident child. I am writing this review because as of February 2015 we are moving to Florida and my son will be leaving the school. I was so impressed with this program that I had to tell anyone looking for a school that THIS is the school to enroll your child into. Thank you to everyone at Dan Vigil's school for making us apart of your family for over a year and giving our oldest son the special attention he needed in your program.

best place to learn taekwondo. In my experience, i have grown and learned under a caring taekwondo family. the atmosphere in there is incredibly friendly. I dont plan on stopping anytime soon :)

My son had a good taekwondo experience. But it cost a fortune, and a year after my son stopped attending, I can not get Dan Vigil to stop the automatic debits to my bank account. We paid $149 per month for over six years. You can't drop in or pay as you go - it's all or nothing. When my son moved on to wrestling, a part time job, and working hard to get into a good college, taekwondo was put aside. He was one rank shy of black belt, so I encouraged him to finish, but when it was obvious he wasn't going reach black belt, I asked Dan Vigil to cancel my son's membership. That was on May 30th. Vigil sent me some forms to complete and sign, which I returned the same day. I was billed $149 the next day, on June 4th. I thought perhaps 30 days notice was required, even though I was not told that, so I didn't complain. On July 2nd I was billed $149 again. I sent Vigil an email and he said he would look into it the next day. I heard nothing back. I was billed again on August 4th. I have called twice and he hasn't returned my calls. I also sent him an email with no response. I now have to pay my bank $35 to stop payments. I'll never see a refund for July and August so I'm out $298. The $1,788 per year I've paid for the last six years was not worth it. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I'm not the first. I will post negative feedback wherever I can. If I cost Dan Vigil one customer, it will have cost him far more than it would have cost him to treat me with honesty. After paying him over $10,000, he refuses to stop the billing.

If you are going to study Tae Kwon Do in the greater Detroit area, go to Dan Vigil's Tae Kwon Do. No place else even comes close.
