I have been going to SHAKU for 3 years now mainly for kickboxing and circuit training. It is a very friendly atmosphere with the emphasis being on respect for everyone as well as your self. Sensei is very accommodating when it comes to busy schedules and life in general. It is a very encouraging and postivie environment even for a complete beginner, which I was when I signed up. I would recommend SHAKU to everyone and do so every chance I get. It is the only exercise regimen that I have stuck with in my 40 some years!

LOVE this place! I would recommend it for anyone! It's not just about the physical activity, though there's plenty of that, Sensei has created a safe environment where people can be comfortable trying new things and pushing to the next level. The principles of perseverance, taking initiative and mutual respect overflow into life outside the training facility and have had a dramatic effect! I can not imagine where we would be without our Shaku family!

Shaku is a great place and my son loves working towards his next belts. I love the emphasis of trying to become the best person you can be and teaching the students many valuable skills and character diciplines. Definitely would recommend those with kids to check out!

I have been going to SHAKU for almost two years now. I was very nervous to start an exercise regime on my own but sensei and the other members made me feel comfortable instantly. Sensei creates an environment that pushes you to try your best and move past your own limits but not in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable or judged. I started on a 20-class kickboxing Groupon and am now working on my Martial Arts belts. I also recently started my five-year-old twin boys in the martial arts program and they love it. They are shy boys and she has made them feel incredibly safe and welcomed. I would highly recommend SHAKU for both adults and children.

My daughter has gained so much confidence in her self over the last 4 years at Shaku! She has learned so much about her self and what she is capable of accomplishing with hard work and dedication! She loves the classes and all of the people she has met there! Sensei is a great teacher and mentor!
