We had an unfortunate fire on our patio this summer while we were away from home. To get into the condo, to the patio, the firefighters had to break the doors to our condo and our neighbors. This happened in July 2018. Ever since, both us and our neighbor has not been able to close the door safely which made me think our case would be prioritized. As it turned out, we are now into our 8th month since the unfortunate event and nobody from Bourrassa has come to change the door nor so close as to secure our lock. 3 months ago our insurer had to call in a separate company to come install a safety lock since the entire door was not closing anymore. Every time we follow up with Bourrassa, we get a new ridiculous date that keeps on getting pushed. Again, they were supposed to come in early January and simply didn’t show up. We have been trying to get them to confirm a date ever since which has been impossible. It is the WORSE service I have ever seen. I would never recommend such unreliable company.

They came twice to take measurements and they still managed to screw up and came with a wrong sized door. The process took 6 months and now with this mistake it will take extra weeks..what a joke...Owner did not handle my complaints well and didnt compensate for my wasted time for 3 events...Ordering a door should not be this complicated.

Bought a wood mahogany front door and paid over 13000$, sales person pitched it to us that she would put it into 2016 billing so we can take advantage of tax credit, as long as our down payment was done b4 2017, we chose to go ahead. Had to chase them to get this credit as promised, since conveniently the sales person we dealt with left and afterwards they didn't agree that the bill was in 2016, just the down payment, which is the reality but then why promise something u cannot deliver. Got my door in 2017, most of the miter joints had large gaps, router/shaper burn marks on stile and rails, the thermal glass was defective (had a large dimple in between panes), some young receptionist at Portes Bourassa tried to convince me it was normal. I wasn't interested in that answer. Had to remind them that they did not have to chase me for final balance, I paid on the spot as agreed. Mentioned that I don't think that is the case with all their clients. Finally a new a guy came in and dealt with the problem and handled it well, but the new glass had fingerprints in between the panes, which the installer was honest enough to point out. It was clearly not on the outside panes. Said he would order me new glass, I asked that the moulding holding the glass in place be also changed due to the triple installation of the new glass and finishing nails plus putty. Never heard from them again. Bottom line over priced door for the quality, obviously their window manufacturer is sub par. Will try Michelena next time and actually go check the door b4 installation as I should have. Believe it or not Ive recommended them as a door supplier to a lot of clients, but will not do so anymore. They used to be amazing. Ive made solid wood doors with engineered stiles and rails and to make a door like this wood costed me 3000+ labour. So they making a pretty penny. Don't no why it doesnt show in the work. ***UPDATE: Dominic of Portes Bourassa followed up and took care of all the issues. He was professional, courteous and apologized this wasn't addressed earlier. I would recommend dealing with him and only him, for any work related technical issues. Do not deal with any of the secretaries as one of them tried once again to give me the runaround concerning the mouldings to be changed also not just thermal window , leave the scheduling only to the secretaries. Dominic is an asset to that organization, and clearly an employee that was lacking. Hope the management realizes this.
