ServiceMaster Restore of Victoria

ServiceMaster was engaged via Insurance company to do initial investigation of moisture issues in basement. Specifically in two rooms. Rec-room with a buckled wood floor and bathroom with a in-floor heating issue. ServiceMaster investigated the Rec-room, found moisture issue and reported it to insurance company. Submitted estimate for Rec-room restore. Completely ignored the issue in the bathroom, even after a couple of emails and complained to the insurance adjuster nothing happened on this front. Roughly two month later i had the perimeter drains around the house repaired and the basement now was dry. Inside damage is supposed to be covered by insurance, so after paying my deductible ServiceMaster started to repair the rec-room. Still no action regarding the bathroom. It took some effort on my side to get the rec-room completed. There were communication issues between the flooring company (hired by servicemaser) and ServiceMaster. It did seem like no-one did know who does what. But after about 2 month (5 month after issue was reported) the rec-room was repaired. It was a not a smooth process to get this far. After 5 months and still no progress on the bathroom front i send emails, did phone calls, etc to find out what the status is. ServiceMaster finally started the "investigation" process in the bathroom. During this process the floor was damaged beyond repair due to the use of wrong tools and a wrong approach in lifting the tiles. The electrician stated that he cannot determine cause of failure. (Well, who would expect any different as we were over 3 month after the perimeter drain was repaired and the concrete slap was bone dry now. There were no signs of moisture anymore. It proofed that the perimeter drain repair worked so, which is a good thing.) Insurer decided not to cover repair of in-floor heating, since cause could not be determined. ServiceMaster walked out, told me to take care of repair myself. At this point (8 month after reporting the issue) i was left with a bathroom that was unusable and a hazard (due to exposed electrical wires). Before ServiceMaster started the "investigation" i had a save and usable bathroom with a non-working heating system. Overall the management of the issues was badly handled, required constant reminders from client. The behaviour shown by rendering a room unusable and then simply walking away is everything but honest/noble.

Chris and his team are professional, courteous and well organized. Chris is a clear communicator and I was kept in the loop throughout the whole process. No question was left unanswered and quality of workmanship was excellent. I highly recommend ServiceMaster for all restoration needs.

Have been extremely impressed by ServiceMaster. They made a tough situation bearable when we needed a restoration project done. major shout out to Peter for his ability to manage everything and to keep us informed. They had the work done quickly and most of all the communication was excellent. It was not hard to get ahold of them and they were happy to answer all my questions. Another praised to Katgerine in the office, she is both patient and well spoken and she ensured we knew what to expect during the process!

It's not easy being a contractor. And it's not always perfect when we're dealing with home renovations etc but I give Peter and his team BIG kudos. He's always responded back to our messages and phone calls with excellent customer service and a quick turnaround of the work. His team are great workers, respectful, courteous and can dole out a chuckle or two. I give Peter our thanks.

Terrible service waited 2-3 hours when we had our basement suites flooded. They sucked up half the water, disposed of it in the toilet with garbage in it (possibly plugging up the septic) and then said they can't help us and left. Who do you call when the service "masters" can't even do a simple clean up job. Useless workers.
