I have spent my middle school and high school years in this small building. I have met some of my best friends here who suffered with me during my time here. Most of the teachers at The York School are to say the least disappointing. Some won't help you at all and expect you to understand everything. The principal knows exactly who I'm talking about because several complaints are sent out to that teacher each year. Mr. Hamilton has done nothing to help the situation because he's good friends with him. I would say the names of this teacher and the other ones on my mind but I know for a fact that the insecure faculty would come after me and have me take this review down. Mr. Hamilton is a nice guy at times. At our graduation party I saw a side of him I thought didn't exist. Other then that he always walks around the halls with a hunched back trying to look as scary as possible. He is scary, he used to be a lawyer, and I feel bad for him for having to deal with the teachers and some of the kids. If your child is an introvert, they have no place here, they will be outcasted, it's such a small community anything you do will be publicized and made fun of. Parents don't dare subject your children to this horrible school, I could say a lot more but the goblins who run the school would probably try to sue me. They don't care bout how your child is doing, only how much money you make so you can donate to their stupid, useless renovations. They make it very hard for your family, and will try to milk every last cent they can out of you. Don't come here.

I don't want to be writing this review, but I feel I have to. My experience at York wasn't good, and I want to spare others from the same experiences. I do want to clarify that the teachers are amazing, so are the students and facilities. But the administration did everything in it's power to make my families' lives difficult. The level of disorganization was highly unprofessional considering the tuition. Beyond that the guidance and mental health aid is abysmal. As a school that advertises as a "small school community", quote was directly taken from David Hamilton's letter on the Welcome to the Senior School Page, they do not care about the students, they care about how much money they can make. When you go to a school like York you expect a level of professionalism and respect that this school will not provide. If you want the school that you, or your child, goes to to care about your family, don't go here.

The Junior School offers enriching academic, co-curricular and athletic opportunities. Our light-filled Junior School campus is designed to give your child the best educational experience possible. Middle School marks an important transition in a student’s life where our investment to support students with independence, personal development and organizational skills will pay dividends in their futures.

Kids are going to this school for several years now and quality of education, atmosphere and extra curricular activities always amaze me. I can compare with other schools, and this one is definitely recommended. One thing to add, they are always transparent and upfront for any cost. I appreciate this in every business.
