We love this school. We have been a part of the school for many years and are so grateful for the education our children receive here. We wholeheartedly reccommend this school!

PLEASE READ: Future Parents looking to put your child in the best school possible. THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT SCHOOL!! You are much better putting them into a public school or some other good private school. Money can buy you a lot of things, but the safeness of your children should be your number one priority!!

I am going into my third year of teaching at CWS, and I have been so impressed by the administration, facility, and community. This school aligns with my values- warmth and compassion for each child, an emphasis on the arts and movement, and learning that reflects the academic and developmental needs of the children. I also appreciate that the school supports teachers in continuing professional development each year. I would trust any of the teachers at this school to teach my child.

When I was a student at the CWS my experience was not good. I was going into the middle of grade 3, at that time I was not bullied, but a friend of mine was who was in the same grade and school as me. At the time I did not know what bullying was or how much it hurts for the who is the bully and for who is being bullied. When I went into grade 4, the same kid who bullied my friend started bullying me, that was a big impact in my life. After a year of bullying,me and my family decided to leave and find a better school for me. I have to say my teacher knew of what was happening and nothing seemed to change; but not only was I bullied from a student but from my teacher as well!! my teacher did not encourage me in a way that was beneficial to me, instead she made me feel bad about myself because I was not able to understand math as well as others. Still nowadays I still feel like I’m bad at math no matter what. Last week I talked to a friend about the CWS and she told me there is still bullying going on there, more then 4 kids have already left school because of bullying, from the same person and nothing still hasn’t been done. I feel sad for other kids who have been bullied just like me. It’s not a kid’s thing to do and it’s not ok. Waldorf school is a great place to learn in but just because it’s Waldorf doesn’t mean it will be always good. THINK TWICE BEFORE PUTTING YOUR KIDS AT THIS SCHOOL.

Our journey at the Calgary Waldorf School began with the Parent & Tot class 15 years ago and though our youngest of two is graduating from grade 9 in a couple of weeks, our relationship with the school will not end. That's because through all of these years, our kids have been blessed with wonderful teachers who at their core are conscientious, diligent and loving, know their students like the back of their hands, have expertise in creating a community for not just the students to learn and flourish in but for the parents to enjoy as well from class 1 on. No organization I've been involved with has as much heart, faithfulness to their longstanding guiding philosophy, and is as well run as the Calgary Waldorf School. No organization is perfect but this school learns from and responds to its trials ethically and responsibly. My kids particularly benefited from the junior high sports program which welcomes any student interested to participate in all of the sports, or as many as they want, throughout the school year. I've been involved as a coach and assistant coach on some of these teams and to see not only the growth over three years in the competence of the team but the strengthening of the student relationships through sport has been such a privilege to behold.

We absolutely love the Calgary Waldorf School! As a parent who was not familiar with Waldorf education at all, I am so happy to have found such a beautiful + nurturing space for my children. We were initially recommended to this school by an occupational therapist with the Children's Hospital. The Kindergarten was instrumental in our child's physical development and confidence. I credit the school's focus on sensory experiences, like outdoor play and handwork activities. Calgary Waldorf offers a lovely community for parents to connect with each other and stay involved in their children's education. I would highly recommend touring the school and talking to the parents that actually have children here if you are interested. I have yet to meet anyone here who has not been satisfied with the education their children have received. We are so lucky to have local school that recognizes play as a foundation for healthy development.
