We are newer to the school. This is our 2nd year & all my kids attending. We have been welcomed in. I’m sorry these other people had a different experience but like most things you need to put effort in to get to know teachers and staff and students. I volunteer and am in the school on a weekly basis. This school is a huge blessing and I am thankful every day that we presently attend. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I went to this school for elementary being a grown adult now made me realize how racist, rude, and abusive this school was to me. My grade 3 teacher I have no clue if she is still there Ms. Jager noticed I dropped my lunch by accident on the floor. She made me swept the floor which was full of dirt, hair, and the broom itself was completely disgusting. She put the fried rice back in my container made me heat it up in her microwave saying “the heat will kill the germs in my food” and watched me eat it. I was filled with trauma from this school. The complete injustice, people not believing me I was being bullied because I was Asian and everyone in my grade was white. The bullies made up lies reporting me while I tried my best as a young kid to explain to them what happened but ended up writing a “sorry letter” to my parents everyday. No one ever believed me and I was always portrayed as the bad guy. I needed to use the washroom but this substitute teacher hated me and never would let me use the washroom to the point I peed on the floor. She laughed at me and including the whole class. She did not bother to help me except the receptionist in the office and sent me home for the rest of the day. I was so traumatized by that by grade 3 I left to use the washroom instead of asking afraid no one would let me go this time but I came back to Mrs. Walters who was not my teacher who was so mad she sent me to the principal office for not asking to use the washroom and made me write her a “sorry letter” to her and my parents. This school punish kids by making them write “sorry letters” by gaslighting them into thinking they are the problem when they do not even investigate the situation. This school does not teach you proper knowledge at all. By the time I switched schools moving to the south side due to being bullied constantly by teachers and students the school I went to realized I did not have the proper knowledge to be in fourth grade because THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT TEACH YOU ANYTHING. My grade 4 investigated the school and she realized how incompetent this school was. She took time out of her schedule to teach me basic math and letters and I was able to catch up with my new classmates who taught me right. This school needs to be reevaluated and needs to be more diverse. Teachers like Ms. Jager, Mrs. Walters, and Mr. John Hiemstra should be questioned. I will never ever let my future kids go near this school and I will continue to tell my story, experience, and trauma I have gotten from this school.

While I've met some amazing people that go to this school, a large majority of the school is problematic. When you immediately meet someone who isn't the even the bare minimum of a nice person it doesn't leave a good impression on how this school is dealing with this behavior. The school only takes actions on situations outside of school if it's going to affect the schools reputation (some of the time). Though the school supports the LQBTQ+ community, a lot of the kids there don't reflect that. Whether it being borderline microaggressions or full on discrimination, we don't see much acceptance for the community from the kids. Even racism is such a normalized thing no one's doing anything about. The teachers aren't the best group out there. You have your mix of ups and downs of staff here. The options aren't that bad but pretty limited. Tuition fee is quite high for an education that is practically the same for almost every school. Shouldn't the school use the tuition fee for things such as more options? Or improving those options? Maybe putting on more special events for the school? To be honest, I've haven't enjoyed my time here as a student should. Do I recommend? Not really.

I took my son there with the hope that people there would act Christ-like. The odd staff member was great, taught well, communicated well and I had the privilege of meeting a few staff who were quite supportive and one who treated her kids the way one's kids should be treated. Others? Rude, never smiled with anyone and not just me, and a teacher who shouldn't be allowed to teach. Degrading as well. Certain parents were not kind either. If a community is what you are looking for, then this fraternity won't be what you are seeking unless you fully meet all of their criteria.

I personally found some of the staff to be friendly and others (like the janitor) to be very rude and mean regarding footwear. I also did not appreciate how they tried to change the way I thought about life into their own view. Otherwise, I did enjoy the time I had at this school, but for those that would rather enjoy a more "non-theist" environment, this school should be avoided.
