My son has attended Monarch for the last year and I am pleased with his evolution. The school is definitely going to do things there way, at first that was disconcerting, yet after working through the process I understand it more. I realize now that my evaluation and decisions were not helping my son work through his emotions, struggles and problems, they were at a minimum supporting his poor behaviors. As a parent I always gave him the benefit of a doubt when I should have been holding him accountable. Monarch holds the students accountable, there are positive and negative consequences for any given action or behavior. Many reviews talk about unusual punishments or untrained staff. If a student is found to cross certain reasonable boundaries they will get "the seat", sitting in the common area, not to talk with other students, working on homework or through their particular transgression. There are no mind games as described in many blogs by past students, just accountability for ones actions. If you don't want your child held accountable, then don't send them to this school. It is interest that many good reviews come from parents and poor reviews come from former students

Brutal. Uncaring. Dishonest. This place imprisons children and brainwashes their parents in order to leech their money. Truly one of the most depraved business models. They take kids that they have no right or qualification to hold, abuse them, and use them as bartering chips in a criminal racket to take $4,000 a month from their parents.

Truly a blessing on the youth of this generation that this pseudoscience behavioral modification labor camp has closed.

for every one child this play may help it is emotionally damaging at least 5 children. parents send your children here at the risk of most likely emotional damaging your child forever. honestly you are better of letting life teach your child lessons that you are unable too.

Things are going very nicely for our family. We have for the most part peace and harmony at home as all four of us are taking care of ourselves while standing by to support each other if/when asked. Our son, as far as my wife and I can see is meeting his goal of a balanced life style. He’s getting his school work done in an engaged way and “seemingly” with little effort. I say seemingly because he does put plenty of effort in but because he balances his academics with work (at a bagel store on the weekends and coaching little kids one or two days during the week), friends, family and plain old down time, he makes it look easy. I don’t know how intentional he is about the balance he has achieved but frankly I don’t really care because he’s doing great and I’m proud of him. I wanted to share a thought I had whilst at dinner last night with my wife. We were talking about our son’s high school which is known to be really great (I’m not a very big fan). And specifically we were chatting about his teachers which I am not especially impressed with. And I said to my wife – “man I miss those Monarch School teachers”. And I really do. His teachers now are fine. Monarch School teachers are light years ahead of fine! They are truly special. While I wish our son could continue to be taught by teachers of Monarch School caliber, I am very grateful that he had them for the time he did (I bet he is too). They made such a positive difference for him in many, many ways. I must thank Monarch again for assembling and leading such a talented team of educators!
