Great Iqra School

My older two kids were at Iqra school. We wish there was education at the school beyond Grade 7. We have seen the school grow in size and quality. I had the honour to meet some of the school founders. My third son now goes to Iqra. I talked to parents who send their kids to other private schools and did some reviewing of other private schools. The school fees are one of the lowest and the academic performance is one of the highest. During COVID-19 challenges, the school has taken steps beyond what is required to assure the student, parents and staff safety. This is still a school on earth not heaven, so may expect some minor deficiencies. However, with everyone's help we can always make it better. Thanks to the teachers, admin, principle and parents for their great efforts!

Big mistake! This school is not what it used to be before sister Randa was appointed to the position of principal. She deals with parents and students as if they were animals, always shouting and not talking. The front desk staff are the same. No manners at all. Stay away from this school. The only reason why it is highly rated is because most of the parents put their kids in programs such as Sylvan, Kumon, Mathnasium, etc. When it comes to teachers some are great, other terrible, just like any other school in the city. This school doesn’t offer any special programs for the students and it lacks on everything. For any new students that will start in this school in September of 2019, you are now forced to donate a $1000 as part of a “family fee”. Don’t do it. Now in days why would you give a $1000?! Parents were sent a letter 3 years ago asking if they were willing to donate their $1000 deposit at the end of their academic time there. The school is now going to court with some parents that never signed the agreement, so beware. The only reason that will make you put your kids in that school is the Islamic part of it, but there is the alternative of the mosque’s in the city which are way better, and not forcing you to give them a large, one time family donation fee. This school doesn’t even have school buses so if you don’t drive, it will be a big issue for some families. Many parents have told me about their concerns in the school, but get shut down by the staff instantly. The front desk will tell you that they have a very long waiting list of kids to make you feel that you are not important and that your opinion doesn’t count. I have 3 kids in this school that will not be attending any more because this school went down hill after sister Randa took on a position that she cannot handle. Sorry for such a long statement, but people must know the truth of this school!

I have left this school but I know it needs 1 more thing, A better field, the gravel is sloping downwards at some point and there are big puddles in it during the rain.
