Do you want to better yourself? This is the place. You are an adult now. Dont demand that ILC help you. You had that chance in high school Now it's up to you. They provide the tools. You provide the hard work and dedication. I'm about to write my GED. I'm nervous 😣

I've been studying with this organization for quite a few years now, and am almost done with them. I would have liked to say that I have had a really good experience, but I honestly can't. The negative aspects have become more overwhelming as I near the end of my journey with ILC, and I'm left with an overall feeling of sadness. There are too many inconsistencies, discrepancies, and mistakes that affect one's learning experience, especially in the math and science courses. There are even mistakes in the marking guides of the practice tests for those courses! I have to constantly be on guard for slip-ups on the part of the teachers, and I have to make appeals frequently. Most of the time, I am lucky and get my marks, but once in a while, once in a while, there is a tiny loophole, and I am forced to accept the original mark. I have no idea if my final test marks are always correct since there is no way to find out. I have to blindly accept whatever the teachers say. Sometimes I wonder whether I have been experiencing racial discrimination. I'm not sure. The administrators were not always considerate, and once my appeal was closed even before the issue was resolved. Anyways, there were a few wonderful teachers, like Mr. Frank, the grade nine geography teacher, and Mr. Aaron Piercey, the lead English teacher. I would love to personally thank them for making my experience with their courses an enjoyable one. Perhaps it is because of them that I have been able to hang on and complete my high school courses. There were also the random teachers who were extremely fair in their marking, and helpful as well. There were also ILC representatives and advisors who actually cared. I wish them all the best.

Every ILC representative I've ever dealt with is extremely kind and helpful. Excellent service to society.

Too many bad reviews, but maybe it's because I haven't asked for any help, so my experience with ILC is different. I have taken Advanced Functions and if you know you can learn by yourself, you can easily ace it. I HAVE actually learned more at ILC than in High School which is mostly due to the teacher. In the end, ILC is great for retaking courses and for refreshing your memory on them. I have only taken one course, so YMMV.

Great to get easy bird credits but don’t expected help on the harder Gr. 12 stuff just because you’re paying. I spent a month emailing their team for help with a simple equation for their Data Management course and was basically told I knew I was signing up for independent work (an employee told me that I could call in for help). Use them for English or perhaps a simple geography credit but be prepared to look for and pay for a tutor if you know you’ll need a bit more help... if it can’t be done in a email they won’t do it. Flexibility is nice and they’ll give you an extension if you ask (Because they know they won’t help you) but ILC is legitimately a online library where you collect and hand in files. They make minimal human interaction their core mission.
