This is our first year sending our children to Prairie Sky School and so far we are very happy with our decision! The teachers and staff are amazing! They go above and beyond and are all very personable. We especially love the small classroom sizes and the land based learning they partake in.

Prairie Sky School has been an incredible fit for our family, especially for those seeking smaller class sizes and more personalized support. The individualized attention and unique learning opportunities—like daily excursions in their own vans to explore nature, museums, and the outdoors—make this school truly stand out. I’ll admit, I was initially worried about how much time the kids would spend outside in our cold weather. However, they’ve never once come home complaining about the cold—just sweaty from playing under their layers, eager to share stories about their day. I was also curious about how the Saskatchewan curriculum would be integrated, and I’ve been impressed by the weekly posts that share photos alongside curriculum updates. These posts give me insight into what my children are learning and help spark meaningful conversations on the way home from school. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) classes have become a favorite in our household. They’ve sparked creativity, confidence, and new ways for my children to express themselves, and I’ve seen such positive growth because of it. The school’s commitment to honoring Indigenous perspectives is truly inspiring. The support of an Indigenous advocate, regular visits from Elders, and cultural guests have introduced my kids to a rich depth of understanding and respect for Indigenous culture. Weekly smudges are another meaningful practice that I am so grateful they get to experience. One of my favorite aspects is the end-of-year camp for the entire school. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to bond with one another, connect with nature, and develop independence. As a parent, I’ve also enjoyed volunteering and getting to know the other families—No school is free of its challenges but I can tell you that I have seen the efforts for constant improvements and transparency. Our family joined Prairie Sky School in 2023 when they took a leap of faith to relocate to their new historic home at St. Chad’s. While the school is navigating the challenges of growth and working toward more government funding as a Certified Independent School, I am proud to support the years of dedication and heart that have brought them this far. We need more options in our education system, and Prairie Sky School is one I can’t imagine being without. It has given us an alternative choice that allows me to feel more involved in how my children learn and grow. The world of education is changing. I highly encourage you to take a tour and see if Prairie Sky School is the right fit for your family.

We are about to start our 5th year at school and every year has just impressed us more! The staffs kindness and ability to adapt to individual children’s needs is unmatched! We love all the outdoor time and coming home exhausted every day! Can’t wait for another amazing year!

I think this school posts fake job postings so they can scam the temporary workers program to get cheap overseas workers. When you apply for a job you get a reply saying the email mailbox is no longer monitored. I'm a local with a teaching degree and 18 years experience working with kids and I still couldn't get an interview but yet I seen they just reposted the same job 2 weeks later?? I've read about places like this who post fake job listings so they can say they tried to look for local employees and couldn't find any so they can qualify for cheap overseas workers. Makes me wonder what type of environment the kids are in if they need 2 new teacher assistants every 2 weeks. I'd be hesitant to send my kids to this school, what's going on behind the scenes to need so many teacher assistants? I've worked in the public and catholic school system and even they don't need to hire 2 new teacher assistants every 2 weeks. I will be reporting them for temporary foreign worker fraud because I think there needs to be an investigation. I seen on their facebook page that they do hire immigrants and it seems weird that someone local with a teaching degree and 18 years experience isn't enough to get a job.
