I’ve been going to J Antou for a long time. I love that place... friendly and professional staff. I’ve never been disappointed with my hair color and cut. I feel comfortable in this hair salon and would recommend it highly.

Been seeing Robyn at J Antou for a few years. She is a fantastic hair stylist.

I bought an offer through my work for a massage, facial, mani/pedi, and cut. I was thrilled, thinking it was the best deal of the century. I had bought a similar package from work for a different salon a few years back and continued to visit that salon for a good five years afterwards. In this case, it should have been a once and done, but instead I gave it a second chance. The massage was adequate, yet seemed a little less luxurious and a little more dark closet in terms of atmosphere. The facial was very nice, but the gratuity required at $18 per service seemed rather inflated for the service rendered. I figured it was an off day and decided to give them one more shot. This time, I went for the haircut, but wish very much that I hadn't taken my chances. I had an older lady cutting my hair. I told her I wanted a lob. I even showed her a picture. What I ended up with was a mom bob. Multiple friends commented that I should have gone back to have it fixed, but considering that I didn't really trust anyone there to "fix" what had already been done, I cut my losses, paid my required $24 tip and vowed to never return - not even for the mani/pedi that was essentially already bought and paid for. Maybe they have an older following and being on trend isn't important because the space itself is also rather outdated and uninviting.

Incredibly disappointed, annoyed, and frustrated! I bought an offer through the hospital where I work and was very excited to finally get a massage and facial (very rare with my crazy schedule). The massage therapist showed up 10 minutes late so we got started 15 minutes late (I only noticed we ended 15 minutes early as I was checking out and noticed the time). Of course my upgrade from a 30 minute to a 60 minute massage still cost me $25 (with their discount of $5 due to missing out on 15 minutes). Last I remember half of 30 minutes is 15 minutes and half of $30 is $15 not $25. Management might need to review good customer service and basic math skills. While telling the cashier, a hairstylist (Detmaris I believe her name is) chimed in to say, "Wow you are lucky to be able to get a massage", I see this as rude and very unprofessional... Don't try to make someone feel they are "lucky" because they took time out of their busy life to care for themselves. As for the positive... There was a stylists who greeted my when I walked in and was very kind to let me know the massage therapist had not arrived yet. As for the services I received... the facial was performed well and she provided good information regarding skin care. The massage seemed more like a body rub than a Swedish massage and would have been better if she used warm oil versus cold lotion. Then the promotional package had a "required gratuity" 45% gratuity on the facial and 30% gratuity on the massage.... not based on quality of service. Needless to say, I canceled my future appointment, will not be recommending to friends or colleagues, and do not have any intention of returning to this salon.
