Great service. Very friendly. Made me feel important while visiting for work.

I’m from South Bend, IN, and I had a gig at SPACE last night in Evanston (I sing). After sound check, I had a lot of down-time, and for a while I knew I wanted a hair-cut, so I figured I would find a spot nearby and go for it before the show! I found Vera’s salon, open til 8, and I called to see if she’d accept me since it was so last minute. She did! I headed over, and was very excited - she was working on another regular’s hair and it was like she was working magic on this lady! Vera’s salon has a bright, welcoming, comfortable atmosphere with plenty of magazines to read, a few booths, pretty interior design, and she had a vase of Lillies at her front desk that totally permeated the whole salon and it smelled wonderful. Vera herself was a bright and smiling, funny, stylish woman who clearly is very skilled at hair and isn’t afraid to use her gifts. We struck up a great conversation, which I enjoy in situations like these. She made me laugh, and when I showed her what I wanted for my hair she knew exactly what to do, and it looks perfect!! I had hair down to my mid-back before getting this cut - I think she took off about five inches maybe? Either way, I left super happy to show off my new hair-do at the gig, and very grateful for Vera and her talents, her time, and her personality. she stayed extra late at the salon to cut my hair, too! she’s committed to her work! when I got back to my gig I got a lot of compliments. get your hair done by this wonderful lady, and show her what you want! and don’t forget to have a great sense of humor - she will make you laugh and feel at home!

Vera. What a sweet lady. I’ve moved around a lot. Had lots of different hair cutters. Yesterday, my first visit, she did a perfect job. Thanks Vera.

Worst haircut of my life! Please stay away from this place. She is super overconfident about her capabilities and does not even listen to what you are looking for

They say you need to be careful when you pick your: 1) dentist and 2) hairdresser. I have yet to pick the first one, as for the hairdresser, the address is clear now: Vera's Hair Salon! Vera is very professional, listens to you carefully and delivers great results. She is also the most caring, fun and sweet hairdresser I have ever come across. Very highly recommended!
