I went back in October for the first and asked for a trim-explicitly stating no more than half an inch off. By the time the cut was over, she gave me layers (looked okay, but I did not ask for them) and she took off 4 inches in the front. I was pissed. I decided to try again as they are cheap and I'd watch the stylist like a hawk this time for my trim, but I never made it past the front desk. The lady wouldn't quote me a price for a hair cut. She said the stylist would charge me more for long hair (doesn't say this on the price board), but could not give me a number until I got into the seat. I left as that just seemed shady. I understand extra charges for hair dye, perms, etc., but for long hair? I have never had that in other salons.

I've been here twice. The first time I got my hair cut quickly and it looked good. I'm not much for hair looks so the fact that is was quick and didn't look hideous was good enough for me. I came back a second time and this cut was enough for me to not come back again. I let my hair go to about 2-3 inches long then go get it cut short back down to about half an inch, so when I was asked how I wanted it done I said that. The chick I had spent about half an hour playing with my hair and barely cut it at all, if any. I heard a few scissor cuts but 90% of the time it felt like she was just moving it around and playing with it, but not actually cutting it. She even complimented how beautiful it was (which has never happened to me) which makes me think more that she was just playing with it. When I got home I realized she had stylized my hair in some weird wavy way that made it feel hard and unnatural(I normally come it straight without any product, and this felt like I had something in my hair). I instantly undid it and pulled my hair up, and I still had my 2-3 inches of hair on my head. I honestly don't know what she did. I hate confronting people or complaining so I didn't go back and ended up using my beard trimmer's longest trim to cut off some of the excess thats annoying me. It's absurd that I paid over $20 to have someone play with my hair, only to go home and trim it myself and want to go somewhere else and get a better haircut. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 star is because my cutter did ask if it looked good and I said yes. I could have told her to cut it shorter and maybe it wouldn't have sucked, but by that time I was ready to just get out as quick as I could rather than risk someone playing with my hair some more.

Went in for the first time at this place and ended up getting my ear cut with the razor by the woman who didn’t even bother to pull down my ear so she can cut my sides and she didn’t even say sorry she just kept going. My ear was bleeding a lot and she apparently “didn’t even notice”. It’s common sense to pull down an ear to cut behind it but no this lady literally went right through the top of my ear like if she’s blind. Half way in to my hair cut she finally realized what she did and started putting powder for like 3 minutes saying it helps her cuts stop bleeding and then she finally decided to go get a bandaid. Soon as she put it on she just kept going like if nothing happened making small talk and my hair cut didn’t even come out good, my line up is deformed and I’m currently having a relative fix it. When I went up to pay this lady still gave me her card saying to give her a call if I want to make an appointment with her in the future. As if. What a joke. Her name is Magalys and I’d best advise avoiding her by all means. I didn’t even get a discount or anything still got charged full price. What a joke never coming here again.

Best hair salon in Oak Park. Very talented and courteous beauticians give outstanding cuts, colors, and styling. (Other salons just overpriced, less consistent talent, and usually inconvenient schedules.) Hair Cuttery is a long standing OP business, and well worth going. You'll be very pleased with the service and results.

Completely rushed through my haircut. Currently having my fiancee attempt to make it look not so bad as nowhere else is open and. Im a paramedic and work a 24 hour ahift tomorrow. At least the guys at the house will get a good laugh tomorrow. Perhaps the good laugh will justify even a single star.
