I saw the low star reviews, but I was willing to give Famous Hair a shot. I'm in marketing and know that you can't trust most reviews you see because people have a tendency to only write negative reviews and seldom give positive reviews. That being said, I had a GREAT experience at Famous Hair. I bleached my own hair, but I didn't leave it on long enough, so it came out yellow. Normally, I wouldn't care, except at the last minute I had to meet with a potential new client. So, I had to do something to fix my mistake immediately. That's when I found Mia! I explained what I had done to my hair to her over the phone, and being a professional she couldn't make any guarantees until she saw my hair. They had an opening within half an hour and I made my appointment and showed up and she got me in right away. She fixed my mistake and gave me a great cut and style. I went to my business meeting confident and didn't have to worry about having lemon hair AND we got the client! Thanks again, Mia. You saved the day. I look forward to making my next appointment!

It was my first time dying my hair. I didn't know how bleaching worked and that it would take multiple treatments to get my hair from black to light pink. When I asked her how it would work and whether she would be able to do it she said she said 'I think I have that color' and walked to the back without explaining what she would do to my hair. I asked two more times because of my inexperience and nervousness, she gave me a vague answer about lightening before she put the color in and started putting the bleach in my hair immediatly, still not answering whether or not my hair would be light enough. After she was finished she told me she would leave it for about 15-20 minutes and smoked out back, she came back and looked at my hair seeming disappointed, I noticed the color was extremely uneven but this having been my first time ever dying my hair(something I mentioned multiple times in the hopes of having the process explained to me)I assumed it was just my hair that was strange. She washed and then colored my hair with the color she brought out and told me it wouldn't show up because my hair was too dark..... I asked if I should come back and have it lightened in sessions(again I didn't know how this worked but I knew people who had gone from black hair to white so I thought it had to be possible)she told me that I could do that if I wanted to but that I would have to wait a few weeks because it would damage my hair, she suggested instead that I go with purple or red because it would show up, I couldn't really see how it looked with it all still on my hair but after going back and forth a couple times I decided to go with the purple. In reality I don't really care what my hair ever looks like and I just wanted to try something I'd never done before and instead of explaining how to get what I wanted she told me she could do it and then changed her mind. She put the purple in my hair and told me to wait while she smoked again, came back after 15 minutes, sifted through my hair and told me to wait, smoked again, came back and told me I was 'good'. She twisted my hair and folded it so that the dye stuck it to the top of my head, I paid $25.00 and she told me not to use sulfate shampoo. I looked over to the large shelf of discount hair care, looked back at her just looking at me. I walked across the street to Publix and bought shampoo, wet dye still in my hair.

Cut hair very well at a decent price and a short wait.

Worst service ever! Don't go there! Would give it less than a star if possible. My mom was asked to wait for 15 minutes because someone else was being attended. However, after the 15 minute wait the hairdresser went out for a smoke break and another customer came in and he decided to take the other customer before my mom. He said he couldn't do my mom's hair because he was waiting on the other person...if this was the case he should have told my mother that and not have her wait in vain. After that my mother of course left. Very disappointed in this hair salon's customer service.
