Stay away.... I really wanted this to work out as far as drop off, so I overlooked many things - the location (near a gun shop/range), the lack of other kids, the completely unprofessional way business was handled. The owner seemed very passionate about working with children, and it looked like it would be fun for the kids as the drop zone space was filled with new toys. Also, I was offered great deals for buying packages. After our first drop off experience, the kids said they had a good time, so I purchased even more hours in advance. I was able to leave the kids two other times, but scheduling and confirming times was far more difficult than it should be. There were two other times I tried, but they were unavailable despite it being within posted hours. The final straw was last week (6/9/14). I showed up at the agreed upon time, and they were still closed and dark. I waited 25 minutes and still no one despite leaving texts with the owner. Her voicemail box was full every time I tried and still is over 24 hours later. Two of the phone numbers listed on the website are not in operation or for a different business entirely. One number was answered but I was hung-up on when I asked for the owner. As far as the salon part. My son had a haircut. It wasn't great, but it wasn't too bad. I was curious as I didn't see any licenses posted for the salon or the service providers so I contacted the NC State Board of Cosmetic Art. I was told that their license expired in February 2014 and has not been renewed. It is important to note that the business maintains two storefronts. One is the salon and one is the drop-zone. The drop-zone is currently sporting a FOR LEASE sign in the window. The drop zone would have been a nice area to play, but the salon space alone is far to small, cramped, and filled with salon equipment and product for keeping kids. I am currently in the process of trying to get my money back, as there is no way I would bring my kids there again. I didn't appreciate being inconvenienced by the lack of availability (which really doesn't make sense for a drop-zone business), but to not honor an existing appointment breaks the last bit of trust and hope I was holding for this business. I have still not been able to reach anyone, although I was hung up on again today the one time one of the lines was answered. Despite the great deals they are offering on Groupon and Living Social (which the owner tries to byspass by selling directly when you inquire), it is not worth it. You will probably just be throwing your money away like I did. UPDATE - June 17, 2014 - The owner is still hanging up on me, although the voice mail box is no longer full. The message has changed, but it is not clear as to whom I am reaching. Also, I went by the location twice today. The Drop Zone still has boxes in it and the FOR LEASE sign is up. The salon was dark and locked even though the "open" sign was hanging.
