Here's how amazing Plum is: I no longer live in NC, but I drive back to get my hair cut here. Male, female, or neither: if you need a stylist, go here, full stop. Erin T. (formerly Erin S. if you met before her marriage) is a goddess of hair. My hair is a waist-length-when-wet, incredibly thick, very confusing mix of textures. I also like wearing my hair straight, wavy, *and* curly -- and yet somehow Erin cuts my hair so it looks perfect in all of these situations. She took the time to teach me how to use a Marcel curling iron (loose handle kind, held shut instead of clamping) to get the "Victoria's Secret" waves, hot rollers to get body, and a blow dryer (long hair = never learned growing up). (Side note to all the fellow thick-haired girls who mentally said "I'm not sure your 'thick' really means thick": I feel your pain, and have ended up with my share of Hermione-triangle-haircuts from stylists that don't know what to do when there's twice as much hair as usual. This is the place for you.)

I have had my hair colored and styled by Page twice and could not be happier! On my last visit I was very nervous about getting a Brazilian Blow Out- which I had never had before. Stephanie, Page and Elizabeth all explained the process and made me feel comfortable with my decision to do this. Page did an awesome job! I am so glad I tried this! I get many compliments on my hair style, as well as my color. I highly recommend PLUM to anyone. Everyone there is very professional and friendly!

Had an appointment for a full highlight with Addie. She took 2.5 hours to foil my hair, and even noted during that time that I have thin hair (so it should have never taken that long). The color came out very dull and was not what I asked for. Did not receive a cut or blow dry - left with my hair wet. When checking out, I was charged $153 for this service even though Addie's displayed price for a "full" is $102. When I asked why I was charged an additional $53 or 150% of the displayed price, the receptionist replied that Addie had to use a lot of extra color. What?! For my thin hair?! I have been going to Plum for over a year, but recently had to switch to Addie because Laura left. I have NEVER been charged for extra color. I feel like I have been taken advantage of. I have also been getting my hair highlighted for more than 20 years, and have never paid this much for JUST a full highlight. To top things off.... A conversation with Addie is like pulling teeth. She barely talks to you and when you ask her questions, you get 1 word answers. This was just an overall TERRIBLE salon experience and I will not be returning to Plum.
