This was the second time utilizing this shop. The first time wasn’t so pleasant, but I figured I’d give it one more shot, and that it was just a one time deal. It was a Sunday morning when I came. They opened at 8:00am and I got there exactly 12 minutes after. The braider asked me what I wanted done. I showed her a pic of the style I wanted. She pointed me to a chair and began on my hair. Apparently that style was $180.00, which I wasn’t told until after my hair was finished. It took from the time I got there until 3:10pm for my hair to be done. Instead of putting a cape around my neck, she opted to just braid my hair and let all the excess hair and whatever black particles she was using, to fall all over my skin and clothes. I’ve never sat that long at any shop for “micros.” The braiders were all talking amongst themselves in their native language, which I find to be extremely rude. I felt it even more so because I kept hearing them say, “Americans,” and then snickered. Not one of them, including the owner, Mama, said anything warm or welcoming to either of the customers. One of them was braiding a little girl’s hair. She must have been around 9 years old. She repeatedly complained that the braider was hurting her head as she parted her hair. The lady that was doing her hair offered no kind of apology, she just kept moving the child’s hands and maneuvering her head the way she wanted it. They have no real customer service skills or professionalism at all. When the braider finished my hair, it looked NOTHING like the photo I showed her, not even remotely. Definitely not worth damn near $200 for it. The only reason I didn’t give only one star is because she did a good job gripping my really short hair. This is the last time I’ll ever set foot in that shop again.

When I came into the shop, I was immediately approached with kindness. The shop was clean and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The ladies are GREAT braiders and would feel very comfortable with anyone during my hair:) the young lady name mama was absolutely amazing, professional, and sweet as can be, with the thinness of my hair, she made me feel very comfortable, and my crochet braids came out amazing!! I will definitely go back to her for my hair! These ladies are absolutely wonderful!! Camelot hairston new customer😄and will be a regular customer😄 thank you mamas hair braiding!

I had an amazing experience in this braiding salon. I got my hair done Friday and really didn't like how thick and heavy it was I told her that I didn't want it so full when I first got there but it must have been a misunderstanding. So I called the shop Saturday morning and expressed my concerns. So she tells me to come in Monday and it will be fixed. They helped me out and fixed my hair exactly how I wanted it without any problems. I will definitely be returning to them in the near future. Thank you mama and staff!
