I've been having Kim Gump cut my hair since 2012. She's great and so is Becky, the owner of THE RITZ. Becky always calls the day before the appointment so I don't forget. This is a great bonus! The shop is beautiful, always spotless, and you can pour yourself a cup of tea while you wait.

I have been going to Ritz Salon for 3 years and ADORE them. Both Nicole and Aubry do a incredible job. I have my hair highlighted and all over color on my medium brown + gray hair and cut and styled every 4 - 5 weeks. My son has also seen Carlos who is a master barber. What a charming man. :) Love this salon! Kitty Bozzini

When I first moved to Lake Oswego two years ago, I was convinced that no hair stylist/barber in Lake Oswego who would live up to the standards. As a recent San Francisco transplant, I was accustomed to a high level of creative, technical work and experience. Furthermore, I had paid a pretty penny for that craftsmanship and consistency. Since moving to Lake Oswego a year ago, I had tried three widely known and recommended Portland barber chains that seemed to have a solid reputation, and I traveled 30+ minutes to get my haircuts there. One of those shops did walk-in appointments only and the other took appointments, but they were super rushed, chop shops (45 minutes)--way too short for a solid haircut. For a few months, I went to these shops hoping for consistency but didn't find that from them. Then I found Carlos (formerly with 18|8 Men's Salon in Lake Oswego) and asked for the most senior person there. Carlos is an experienced, technically savvy and super creative individual. As a private consultant, I have to uphold a polished and well-kept appearance Monday-Friday, while showcasing my unique style, so I require regular haircuts that reflect my work. Furthermore, I inherited my mother's thick, (Asian) straight and very challenging hair type. My hair type scares most barbers/hair stylists because it shows EACH and EVERY mistake, so for those that have fussy, straight and thick hair like mine...look no further, as Carlos has mastered this hair type. In fact, I've learned he's managed all hair types, as he worked at many different salons in Los Angeles and is familiar with all hair types. I've been going to Carlos for more than one year now, and have been happily pleased and always satisfied with his precision, warmth and professionalism. Carlos has developed a loyal client in me, and I'm happy to provide this glowing review that is completely unsolicited, but well deserved.
