Emily adjusts her schedule for me. She gave me the greatest cut and highlights which liked prefect, fit better than any cut or color I've ever had before. Well worth the cost and could not be more satisfied!

If you are sitting here reading this because you are having a color related hair crisis then book an appt w/Ash Bumpus.Immediately. She works miracles. When I originally found Ash several years ago she was working in a different top rated salon in the area. I had just moved to Portland and was frantic because a stylist at a swanky salon in SF had just turned my long, healthy, naturally dark hair into an orange straw nightmare when I asked to go lighter. When I called that salon in the Pearl I relayed my problem to the receptionist and asked to book a consultation with the best colorist they had. She said with absolute certainty that the only person she would trust to fix it was Ash. Glad I asked! After a visit or two Ash had salvaged what she could from the breakage and given me a cut all of my friends to this day say is the best I have ever had. Most importantly, my brassy mop was transformed into a beautiful and well blended platinum blonde color. As anyone who has attempted to go blonde from dark hair knows-that is no easy task! Everyone working at Chelsea Salon seems to have a regular flow of happy clients when I visit. The other stylists come across as very friendly and professional. The decor inside is simple but stylish and as I have learned in the past just because the inside looks expensive doesn’t mean the stylists are great! Anyway, if you want to get stopped on the street and complimented by strangers about your hair then book with Ash. She is truly a creative genius. She knows what she is talking about so listen to her when she tells you how it is and take her up on it when she suggests something different. I am always happy in the end. My only regret here is that I didn’t ever get around to writing this sooner.

This review is for Shauna. Worst cut and color I've ever had. Uneven haircut and the foil highlights start an inch to inch and a half from my scalp. I look like I had my hair done three months ago and I'm in desperate need of a touch up. Also, service was horrible. I waited 25 minutes past my scheduled appointment and she didn't bother acknowledging me to say it would be a few minutes. She never asked if the water was an ok temp when washing my hair, which it wasn't. She offered me magazines instead of trying to talk to me at all and when I asked where she was from she didn't even reciprocate the question. I had a consultation a week prior and was told $180 and was charged $195 at time of service. Because of that, I tipped 15% instead of 20%. I could have looked past all this if I didn't hate my hair. I thought it was ok until I put my hair behind my ears and realized I had wife of Frankenstein highlights on the side. So I can't put my hair up or behind my ears without looking ridiculous. With a grand total of $220 I still have to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed because I text the stylist twice to ask to come in for a touch up and a trim but she didn't respond. Beyond pissed I wasted my money. I feel completely ripped off. I came here because it was highly rated and cruelty free. It's too bad I won't be back.

I've been going to Carmen to get my hair cut and colored for many years. She is the most talented colorist and stylist that I've come across. She definitely knows what she's doing; you can rest assured that you'll be in the best of hands and always look your best! I've always been highly pleased and satisfied with my hair every time after visiting Carmen. And on top of all this she is highly professional, fast, and always on time. I wouldn't go to anyone else!

I have been going to Sarah R. M. since over 1 year. This is the second time that she cut my hair uneven. After my complaint she acted very unprofessional and said "I cut hair for style and not for precision"
