A wonderful experience from start to finish. Megan started with me on color, talking me through her process, explaining along the way what she was doing, and why. She clearly knows exactly what she's doing when it comes to color. She's also absolutely lovely and easy to talk to - like you're old friends. We chatted it up the entire appointment! Alex is a bit more quiet, but it's because you can see the wheels turning in his head. He looks at your hair like a blank canvas and then goes at it with the scissors in such a dramatic fashion....it's literally watching an artist at work! Fantastic stuff. I was blown away at his technique and how he could completely transform a head of hair, with just a few snips. His eye for matching the right hairstyle to your face is second to none. I also felt absolutely welcome there. It's clearly an upscale salon, but they make you feel comfortable and at ease. I would definitely go back and recommend them to absolutely everyone.

I called this salon because it was rated best for color services in Philadelphia. While playing the telephone game with the receptionist (answering my questions by putting me on hold and running over to the stylist) I experienced harsh comments geared at getting me NOT to come in. I finally got the stylist on and this treatment continued even going there with old checking to see if I can pay act (I’m a doctor). I eventually stated that even if the color can’t be done, because I have an event, I would definitely want to leave with at least a wash a blowout. I was then told, “then you should find another salon”. Is this because the photos I was made to send ahead revealed that I was African American? I’ve been getting keratin for 7 years, now it’s suddenly dangerous for hair? Gross treatment! Discrimination!

Excellent salon. Beautiful, bright space. I see Gail for a simple hair cut every 4-6 months and she is wonderful. She is quick and efficient but I still feel like I have her undivided attention. The whole team there is very friendly and accommodating when I need to schedule an appointment.

I've been going to Megan and Alex for years now. There's a reason they have been written up in magazines nationwide for their services. I now drive 1 1/2 hours to have Megan do my color because I cannot find anyone closer who does as good a job. If you're used to paying for professional cuts and color, the prices are not outlandish. I've paid far more for the same outside of Philadelphia, and frankly, the color lasts much longer because it's done properly. I've referred several people to AMS over the years, some close and some far, and all continue to be happy with the results. I'd highly recommend!

I have been coming to Megan and Tasha for over seven years, and I have never once been disappointed! When I first started coming to AMS, my hair was blonde and very damaged. Megan is THE BEST colorist in the city! She was able restore my hair to a gorgeous healthy, brown color! What I love most about Megan's color, is that she is able to color my hair so that it looks so natural! She consistently does an amazing job! Tasha gives THE BEST cuts and blowouts in the city! She listens closely to exactly what type of cut I want! She blows my hair out with such fullness and bounce, I love it! I am often stopped and complimented on my hair, and these two wonderful ladies get all the credit! I HIGHLY recommend trying AMS! You will definitely leave thinking, #youlookbeautiful!
