I wanted to like this salon because a. it's nearby and b. it's cute. But overall, it seemed like a lot of money for little results. When I called, I got detailed pricing information for the junior and senior stylists. I was told with a single process semi-permanent color and a cut, it would be no more than $65 with a junior stylist, which I opted for considering my budget. A young woman colored my hair well enough. (Semi-permanent is kinda hard to mess up.) My cut was uninspired and even though I detailed a problem I wanted to remedy, my stylist didn't seem like she offered any solutions so it was a trim basically. Anyway, cut to the cash register where my tab came to $80+. I told her about the info I received on the phone and she said that every junior stylist charges differently. I asked the cost of the color and she told me $60, plus the cost of the cut I asked if there's any discount for first-time visitors. Nope. I paid not wanting to cause a fuss. Got into my car and saw a substantial amount of color still on my face. Not the kind of stain that remains after you've tried to remove. Fresh color. I went back in and the stylist handed me a cloth so I could do it myself (!). For almost $100 ($20 more than I intended to pay, including tip), I'm scrubbing off color on my face. At that point, I'm not too happy. I love small businesses, esp those that employ so many women. I just wanted to be treated better, have a better cut and be charged the amount given to me on the phone. I also called twice to discuss this issue with the manager but never received a call back.

Had a super first timer experience with Paige at Bluebird Salon. She gave my hair a thorough evaluation prior to starting. Did before and after photos and had a relaxing carefree experience. I would recommend Paige at Bluebird to anyone looking for a hair professional that listens to your wants and needs and gives her professional feedback. Great experience from start to finish.
