My consultation with Dr. Wheeler for rhinoplasty was on a Wednesday in early February 2017. Earlier in that week, I had gone to my first consultation for rhinoplasty with another plastic surgeon from another practice. I did not do any Google searches for either of these plastic surgeons in terms of patient reviews. Nor do I know anyone that has gone to them for any services. After the consultation with Dr. Wheeler, I made the decision right then and there to have my rhinoplasty by Dr. Wheeler. He explained why he chose the method of closed versus open, that there would be no need for cartilage harvest, that the surgery would take about 90 minutes, and will be done in the surgery center suite which is in the same location as the office. He went over post-op care, the time frame for follow up appointments, which levels of activity could be undertaken, when I could travel by airplane, etc. Most importantly, he was forthright about when the desired outcome of the surgery would be seen. (It can take up to one year for full effect) I felt reassured that both my medical safety and desired outcome from the rhinoplasty would be in highly experienced hands. He is caring and compassionate. His attention to detail fosters confidence. My surgery was in April. The day of my surgery, he went over the plan with me again and answered all of my questions. He is an excellent physician/surgeon! His consultation/pre-op nurse and patient care coordinator are both equally caring, compassionate thorough, and dedicated. In fact, everyone at the La Jolla cosmetic surgery center is warm, friendly, supportive, encouraging, and enthusiastic. I love my new nose because the changes look natural.

Dr wheeler told me he was doing a nose job for 20 years and only one patient had a bump left on their nose and needed to do another surgery to fix But he did the same to my surgery and told me he had to do another one to fix it but I have to pay for the anesthesia $450 Guess how many he had and will tell you the same thing you read in first 3 lines

Dr. Wheeler is wonderful as is the entire surgery center. The process was a breeze. I was well informed and very confident in Dr. Wheeler after personally meeting and talking with him at the consultation. I am thrilled with the results and are exactly what I hoped for. I am now living life with a new-found confidence. I would highly recommend Dr. Wheeler and La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Center!

Dr. Wheeler, is a skilled, experienced, trustworthy surgeon. He has an excellent bed side manner. A good listener, he is able to hear your needs and desires and deliver on that realistically. Can not recommend high enough. A gem of a man and surgeon.
