Dr Hoffman was my daughter's doc a year ago and I am so pleased with him, the surgery and the result that he deserves this 5 starts review! I read lots of his reviews before meeting him, and I have to completely disagree with the ones mentioning he is not a nice doc. He was VERY nice, knowledgable (I'm a scientist and thus, asks lots of questions and he knew all the answers and was right every time!). He is honest and blunt and that is what you look in a doctor. He is an expert! no doubt about it! and the result were so good, you can hardly see a scar. I would recommend him any day to any friend. I also have to add that his team at SF children Hospital were top of the line. However, keep in mind that you never know who you get and it is a study hospital so sometimes you get a residence, we just got lucky.

I am going to write two reviews pertaining to my experience with Dr. Hoffman and his practice. I will post the most recent experiences that I've had then I'll post the other reviews as I begin to heal more from most recent facial reconstructive surgery aka (FFS). Let me first expose that I am a transgender female. As a woman I had some extremely serious challenges with my face which exhibited masculine features that psychologically took a serious emotional effect on my self-confidence and my abilities to feel good living as a transgender woman. Because of my state of mind and apprehensiveness to move forward with such a procedure, it took me some time to have 100% confidence in Dr. Hoffman. I felt this way because I honestly thought that he would not take my desire to have a feminine face serious because I was transgender. It had nothing to do with Dr. Hoffman, it was all in my head. Oh boy, did he TOTALLY prove me wrong. When I first met with Dr. Hoffman he told me that my face looked alright the way it was but I knew inwardly I needed a more feminine face to be happy. He had great bed side manners and he listened to my desires and he took them very serious. Shortly after, I was sent to have an x-ray of my skull and after that here is where things began to really make me happy. I came back for another appointment and we talked about what I would like to see different to my face and the reasons why. He listened, took notes and gave me his honest feedback. I like a doctor who will be very honest and straightforward with you. He's very direct but it's for your own good. Strategically we put together a very informed plan which ended up working in my favor. So to get to the part that makes Dr. Hoffman such an awesome surgeon is that he just recently performed a facial feminization procedure to my face. I didn't realize how nerve wrecking this type of surgery can be when it pertains to your face. To make sure I was very clear again of my needs and to confirm he and I were on the page before the scheduled surgery, I would send a number of emails to him and he would always professionally respond to them. Not once did he ever get irritated with me. He understood how much this procedure meant to me. Anyway, I had a lot done to my face. For instance a slight brow lift, brow bone shave, re-contouring of my entire forehead, jaw line shave, much narrower nose (looks amazing), trachea shave and slight fat injections to my checks. I am sure that I may have missed a few other ones but I know for sure that I listed all of the major ones. Let me tell you for as much work that was done to my face, his artistic and creative mind worked beautifully, not to mention he is professor of surgery and Chief Division of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, but he is renowned. He has proven his abilities as a renowned surgeon to me by making me so beautiful and making my face so soft and feminine. He actually took a somewhat masculine looking face and made it so gorgeous and alluring. I didn't turn out looking animated or overdone but he made me look very natural. Omg how important it that? Overall I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Hoffman. His work as a plastic surgeon is phenomenal and much appreciated. It was great working with him and being his patient. How can I forget about his clinical staff, they are awesome!! Woot, woot... Together they all make a great team and they make dreams come TRUE. I'll post again as I progress along with my healing. So far everything has turned out the way it should have.
