Dr. Zabel has been excellent throughout the pre-surgery, surgery, hospital stay after surgery, and when I came home. I am confident in his surgical skill; I have a beautiful scar on my abdomen instead of the wide stretched out one that was stapled 12 years ago. I have been impressed also with Dr. Zabel's staff, office, and location. He really pays attention to the patient, and is super competent.

What a horrible experience!!! Dr. Zabel had absolutely no bed side manner. He walked in and stated "what are you here for?" Not a hello, how are you, nice to meet you, etc. I was there for a consultation and before he even examined me, he said the insurance wouldn't cover my surgery.....He didn't ask about my history, didn't even examine me to see what would of needed to be done. He was waiting by the door like he was itching to get out. I left in tears. He made me feel so uncomfortable. I ended up with Plastic Surgeon Dr. Kathryn Warren and she was SO wonderful. She immediately made me feel comfortable, she sat down and explained to me my options and let me know that surgery was the best thing for me. I forgot to mention, I got a bill in the mail for Dr. Zabel's 4 minutes of nothing and paid it immediately, I got another bill so I called his office and let them know I already paid it...Fast forward 3 months later and I just got a letter stating they are sending my bill to collections!!! What a joke, do yourself a favor and take your consultation elsewhere. This place is horrible.

I can only share my experience. Dr. Zabel is a good Dr., my issue is with the office. TERRIBLE!!!! I requested a free consult, they said sure. I had to return to the office to bring paper work and specifically asked do I need to bring a referral, they said no. Why now am I getting billed for both office visits??? I will NEVER recommend another person or friend to this practice again.

I chose Dr. Zabel as my surgeon for a breast lift, tummy tuck, arms and thigh contouring, after a significant amount of weight loss. This was after I had four consults with various other plastic surgeons in the PA/DE/MD area. My experience with Dr. Zabel & his staff was excellent. My 1st and 2nd consults with him were thorough and I understood the plan. He gave me a very resonable price quote for the amount of work that needed to be done. I felt confident in his reputation and the fact that he is the Chief of Plastic Surgery for Christiana Care. Surgery day and the hospital experience went great. He even came in to the hospital on a Saturday to check on my post-op condition. Most of all, after surgery was done and money was paid, my after care continued to be consistent and professional. As my body healed and I needed frequent visits to address healing and later, a small revision, excellent care was provided. I am so pleased with my results, and would definitely recommend this doctor.
