I had a surgery in January here and my experience was wonderful so I was thrilled to have surgery here just this past May imagine my surprise when it was entirely different! Unlike my first surgery the anesthesiologist in the pre-surgery area without being asked for without me making any suggestion of being in pain or anxious or anything of the sort after only speaking to him for maybe two minutes if that started pumping my IV full of a bunch of Narcotics and anti-anxiety medication I assume I only know what he gave me because I'm aware of one of the medications which was I believe it's called the daloton which Im not even sure if I'm spelling it properly but shortly after he gave me my first dose of that a second dose was administered and I started to get concerned like why is he giving me so much of this then not even 2 minutes later he's ordering more meds for my IV the nurses up by my head and I said to her and I'm feeling pretty groggy and she was well we'll wait just a min before we give you this by the time she got those words out of her mouth he was shoving this syringe of med into my iv he had that medication in my IV so fast all I do know is within a matter of min I was in and out of Consciousness barely don't really remember a lot after that I remember my husband saying something like she does want to wake up and the anesthesiologist saying we'll make up your mind and we found that to be ood..I told my husband I was scared I passed out at the end of surgery when they brought me into recovery they could not wake me up now I've had many surgeries in my life I'm almost 49 years old and I've never had any complications with anaesthesia what's so ever they could not wake me up so they had to reverse my anesthesia well when you reverse somebody's anesthesia they wake up very quickly and they feel all the pain all at once and I did I remember screaming what did you do to my arm I'm traumatized I remember the terror and the horror I felt like somebody had ripped my arm off and I can remember at the time and them getting me dressed and it was very abrupt very quick and it was just like things are just going on so fast I didn't understand what was happening I didn't know where my husband was I just knew that people were putting clothes on me and my arm was in excruciating pain I was just screaming and thinking and I just wanted the pain to stop and I just kept saying what did you do to my shoulder and they kept telling me to be quiet because I was scaring other patients I don't know about any other patients I just knew that I hurt and it felt like like somebody was just ripping and shredding my shoulder the pain was so bad and nobody was listening to me scream for help. They left me sitting in a chair until finally my husband showed up all they had given me was an oral Percocet so before surgery when I didn't have any pain you were pumping massive narcotics in my IV and here I am screaming in absolute pain and you give me an oral Percocet and leave me alone to suffer until my husband finally came then you offer me something in my IV finally and tell me I have to wait before I can go home do you really think I cared I didn't and then you put a little something in my IV to alleviate some of that pain that was the most barbaric experience I have ever had in my entire life you guys acted like I was nothing I think a dog would have been treated better the torture and the pain that I went through the bruises on my body from you dressing me I was nothing to you people I cannot believe you allowed somebody to suffer like you allowed me to that day and the memory of it makes me cry two weeks later it was so different than my first experience when you were so kind to me maybe it's because my husband wasn't there this time to watch you like he was the first time why is it you're so willing to shove narcotics in me before surgery but when I needed the pain relief you didn't want to give me anything how do you let somebody suffer like that and tell them to be quiet they're scaring other patients, I was TERRIFIED!
