Do not use Dr. V. unless you understand how they're going to charge you. My daughter fell and had a cut on her chin. We took her to local hospital that's within my insurance network. The ER doc suggested me to call Dr. V who is his friend to do better stitching job. I asked him if Dr. V is associated with hospital and was told yes. I thought that meant Dr. V is also within network. Big mistake. It turned out they're not and they can charge whatever rate they have. My insurance was nice enough to count it towards in-network expense but they cannot negotiate the rate with Dr. V. The total bill was around 9K(yes, you read it right. for ~15 stitches on the chin. I don't think even for breast job would cost that much.). Insurance paid ~6K and we're still responsible for 3K. To me, I think 9K for ~15 stitches on the chin is outrageous. I tried to explain to Dr.'s office the situation and work with them but they have no sympathy to what happened at all. All they can do is 10% off if I pay in full.
