I have been seeing Dr. Altamira for a while now and he is a good surgeon. Since I have been seeing him, he has been pretty busy and it has been harder and harder to make an appointment to see him. To schedule an appointment with him, you have to wait at least 1 month to see him. It takes at least 1 month to 2-3 months to schedule a surgery with him. Also, since I have been seeing him, he has new medical staff, assistants and his current medical staff/assistans/receptionist are not very helpful and friendly. The medical staff/residents don't seem to care about the patients. I am giving him 2 stars because making an appointment to see him takes so long. Also, he is always late so when you have an appointment, you end up waiting a long time to see him. Also, his medical staff/assistants/receptionist are not helpful, friendly which makes the experience/visit not pleasant.

“I was beyond impressed with my experience at Dr. Altamiras office. My first contact was with Dr Altamira and I was completely blown away by how helpful and kind he was and how fast he was at getting back to me! My appointments ran on time, he was really knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment! The office staff have bent over backwards to assist me and NEVER once made me feel like an incovience . I highly recommend Dr. Altamira for anyone who wants a caring doctor who will take the time to do things right .

This guy has a HORRIBLE answering service. He ordered a ultrasound for my husband who was seen at Memorial Hermann Tirr by this Dr. He said that my husband could have a possible blood clot. (Leg suddenly swollen) ..... Starting over: Let me make it VERY CLEAR that my husband was NOT seeing him for any type of plastic surgery. My husband was referred to him because of an extremely bad pressure sore that he has been dealing with for a while now. (He is paraplegic) The morning of the appointment my husbands right leg was very swollen. When Dr. Altamira saw him, he ordered an ultrasound and then just left. No call. Nothing. This situation can actually be very serious..... Or maybe not. Either way, we would like to know. My husband calls the answering service to try and get a call through to him with his concerns, and she literally YELLS at him and is very rude. We were instructed that he is the only one on call during the weekends (no on call nurse) and that they ARE NOT under any circumstances allowed to call him because a patient is concerned about getting test results. I'm sorry but that's not exactly what I want to hear when I'm concerned of a Blood clot!!!!! Anyhow, as a plastic surgeon I don't know and don't care. As a Dr. Working with Patients that actually have real medical issues. NO WAY. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Oh! And I have an answering service that I use for my residents/tenants in case of emergencies. These calls are all recorded. I hope that this doctor will take 5 minutes to listen to the way that lady talks to his concerned patients. That is all.
