Dr William Portuese

I broke my nose in an accident and had trouble breathing out of one side. I am a health care professional and am familiar with the surgeons practicing in the area. Many of my colleagues agreed that Dr. Portuese does the best work. While I was expecting a good outcome, which I was extremely pleased with, what surprised me is the excellent staff and facilities that Dr. Portuese has assembled. Every single person I met, from front desk, to finance, nursing, techs, and anesthesia were all wonderful, kind and exceptional at their jobs. The facilities are comfortable and convenient. Thank you to Dr. Portuese and his staff for such a smooth and easy process.

I called back in December to make an appointment. The day of the appointment was yesterday but I called to cancel the day before because I was out of town for an unexpected funeral and couldn't make it back in time. I left a voicemail and didn't receive a call back so I thought all was well. This morning I saw that this clinic then took $125 from my account and when I called to ask what had happened the receptionist told me that I would have had to call within 48 hours of my consultation appointment to not be charged. She was short and acted annoyed that I would ask about the charge, and told me that I had been told about the 48 hour cancellation policy when I made the appointment. I told her that I was not told about it, and she said it was their policy and there was nothing they could do. I would have liked to know that I needed to call by then, but I was not told to do so. I'm definitely not going back to this clinic and would not recommend it to others due to the rude way they treat their would-be patients.

This is the first time that I write a bad review for a doctor. I had the worst experience with Dr.Portuese office. They had such a strong effect on me that I’ve decided to stay away from all plastic surgeons forever. Whatever my face is it doesn’t worth to deal with such horrible people.Here is my story: Many years ago I had an accident left broken nose, broken head and lots of wounds. A doctor did a surgery on my nose and fixed the broken part and did some beauty work to enhance the appearance. He did really good job. However, by getting older my nose start changing and shrinking, the bone looks like a zigzag and the tip bended to the left. My bone between my eyes is so painful that I can’t even wear my sunglasses. One friend recommend me visit Dr.Portuese. I called his Hillsboro office to set an appointment. I asked the lady on the phone if it’s a free consultation and she said yes but there is a $125 fee if I don’t show up. The day of the visit I entered the office and the front desk lady asked my name and gave me some paperwork to do and said I can have a seat in the lobby. I said thank you and then I remembered I had a question so I stopped there and waited for her to get back to the window, she thought I walked away and I overheard her and another lady making fun of my name and laughing. I got so upset and went to the lobby, the lady came with a fake smile, I told her about the name, her face got yellow and she started mumbling nonsense excuses like “oh I just wasn’t sure how to say your name!” Then she took me to a room to take some photos. Then the dr came and I explained my problems and he said that he can’t help it, he can’t fix the uneven nasal holes or bended nose tip. Then I went to another room and finance person was there, she said my surgery is going to be $12,500 and I have to pay the full amount two weeks before surgery, they don’t work with any kind of insurance or credits, and they don’t make it to the payments. I was confused and I asked her that Dr said he can’t fix my problems, so what he is going to do in a surgery? She showed me one image with literally no changes and said he is going to smooth down the bump and they can’t show other pictures because they don’t show anything! I attached the image that they gave me and my real problem that you can see how ridiculous it is! Few weeks after the visit, I received a $125 bill! I called his office and I asked what this bill is for. The billing person said its for consultation, I explained to her I asked the front desk if it’s a free consultation and she said yes but there is a $125 fee if I don’t show up. The billing person said they have to be fair to all patients, they got the money from other people, so I have to pay! I actually found the answer really funny, it’s like they really care about people by taking their money. She said there is a $125 fee if you show up or not and they always take it, I asked if it’s so why they don’t ask people to pay as they get to the office before the visit, she said they had my card number but the transaction didn’t go through, the card number was wrong! Lots of lies! Nasty environment! I found their names from the Dr website, the billing person is “Connie” and the lady that had lots of fun with my name is “Jamie!”. They have to be really ashamed for the way they treat others! Conclusion: staff are super mean, disrespectful, unkind and irresponsible. They care about your money, your name, and your nationality more than you or your concerns. You have to be crazy brave to trust such people with your beauty. Go and check this doctor before and after photos, in many of them you don’t see any changes! It’s really clever, he gets the money and not even challenge himself to fix the patient problems or make improvements. If you really need a plastic surgeon, go and find a good one in California. It’s not like Oregon-Washington area, there are too many of them there, so it’s competitive and they have to be really good to stay in the business. I hope it helps!

I am absolutely THRILLED with the results of my rhinoplasty! Its been 6 months and I now love my reflection! My nose is still changing and healing but I am so happy that I found an amazing doc to fix my profile! Thank you thank you thank you Dr P and staff!

Great doctor and staff. Took time to explain procedure options and did not force any decisions. Everyone was professional and accommodating. Wonderful experience and results!
