Unfortunately, I had a very mixed experience here, but I'm trying be positive so I'll start with the good. The Good: Dr. Bartholomew was friendly and personable and the first doctor I had had to correctly identify the mysteriously painful tumor in my finger which was a huge relief. The surgery was easy and uncomplicated and I felt like I was in great hands. The bad: the follow-up was horrendous. No one called to check in after surgery to see how things were, and I had a bad allergic reaction to the medication I was prescribed. Both times I needed prescriptions, the staff never bothered to relay that information to the doctors and I ended up leaving empty handed, dealing with blinding pain that made it impossible to sleep. (I thought it was a fluke the first time, so I didn't complain, but when it happened a second time two weeks later, I realized this was a consistent problem.) The staff is very friendly and kind and everyone seems competent, so I have NO idea why the communication seems to be such an issue. In all, I would say, great doctor and care, but be prepared to ask for everything you need, multiple times, and be very proactive with your own recovery.

Last week I had my second hand surgery (left) with Dr. Bartholomew. In 2010 he operated on my right. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with Dr. Bartholomew and his entire staff. Absolutely quality people and quality work. I'd recommend him for anything you need a keen eye and caring surgeon for. Thank you all for your outstanding service.

I recently met with Dr. Bartholomew for the first time. I found him to have a friendly and caring "bedside manner", to be very knowledgeable, able to speak in away that the lay person could easily understand, and he was able to provide treatment that was relatively pain free and with no further complications. Both in the office, as well as in a follow up phone conversation, I felt that I had his undivided attention - he was willing to spend as much time as was needed to answer my questions and make me feel comfortable. His staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. I would strongly encourage others to make use of his service. Should the need arise in the future, I will most definitely use his services again.

Dr Bartholomew guided me through a 2-month hospital stay at Providence that included 2 major surgeries by him. I firmly believe that if not for him I would have ended up with one, and perhaps two, amputations. His skill and professionalism gave me confidence, and his caring attitude was a true blessing!
