After months of pain not going away, I finally visited Dr. Buncke (took a while cause I didn't have insurance). We turned on the XRay and found out there was a piece of metal in my hand. What a relief, I thought. That's fixable. He told me the plan, and in a week I was back for surgery. What an experience. I've never had a procedure this intense, and I'm glad it was here. Dr. Buncke was knowledgeable, capable, and quite funny. I felt respected and honestly cared for the whole time. The price ended up being surprisingly tolerable. My hand is just about healed now, and I could not be more grateful :)

I should start out by saying Dr. Buncke is not your usual in and out doctor. He's funny, irreverent, thorough, listens, explains and makes sure you understand his approach. If you don't have a sense of humor, you may not like his approach. I love it. I've never had his attention for less than an hour. He had to inject cortisone twice for a wrist problem, and it was painless, unlike other cortisone injections I've had with other doctors. I was not only treated well but entertained in the process. I also think he's a good doctor, which of course, helps.

I came to Dr. Buncke about eight years ago with a table saw injury to my finger. Buncke was a second opinion, the first opinion was excessive and unnecessary and very expensive. Thank you Dr Buncke my finger is just fine. While some may find you out of the norm your advise and treatment was spot on. Thanks again, John Bryant

I came to see Dr. Buncke because I had so much pain in my hand from working on the computer all day. I saw 2 other doctors in Portland before I visited Dr.Buncke's office, and the 2 earlier ones dismissed my problems and told me to simply buy a wrist guard and special mouse pad. What a waste. This doctor actually listened to me, he did a thorough examination, and scheduled me for an in-office x-ray. I'm now still at the same job, but my performance has improved thanks to having pain free movement in my hands and wrists. Staff was friendly, and all it took was someone to actually listen and I was finally relieved of my pain.

Very interesting Doctor. Gets straight to the point and breaks it all down , maybe a little unconventional in his approach , but realistic. Maybe not what you want to hear , but what you need to hear. Thank you Doctor for your compassionate help.
