Campus style school, quality education for a fare price

I attended Riverdale Country School from 1958 to 1961. I had interesting classmates like Carley Simon, Chivvy Chase and Ed Randell amount others. The school grounds are very well maintained and it has wonderful views to the north and west. I found the classes challenging but I really learned to study because I had to! I really enjoyed my years at the school and would recommend it to anyone as it really prepared me for college. Also there were many activities including sports and different clubs. My favorite sport was fencing which I contained through college. Also music was a major activity including putting on musicals and number out concerts. These programs were ably led by Russell Ames, a real genius in organizing complex presentations. The classes were relatively small with a lot of individual attention. I found the teachers very dedicated to their teaching and always available to help students having difficulties. I cannot speak to the school now but I am sure the tradition of "excellent teaching" continues. The schools location is excellent and and easily reached from Manhattan if that is where you live. I remember walking to the school from the 242st west side subway stop. In summary I highly recommend the school.
