Poor learning environment. Not enough time for academic pursuits and too much time for stupid pep rallies. There is only a 25 minute lunch allotment and the lines are from Hoover to China. The teachers are unfair and make fun of people. The schedule is wack. Every other child that goes to this school has some type of behavioral problem surrounding them. If you would like to put your child in a Christian environment, run from this place like it's hell, because it is.

I have been engaged and involved with Shades Mountain Christian School in one way or another since 1975. I'm a graduate and have two girls who currently attend. It's been so amazing to see how God has used this school over the years to impact kids and families for His kingdom. Small class sizes, godly teachers who really care, excellence in academics and the arts and athletics, and everything taught from a biblical worldview perspective are just a few of the things that makes SMCS great.

This school not only impacts its students but its teachers as well. Going on my 5th year teaching, this school has become more than a workplace but my family. It is truly a family-oriented school with loving and caring staff members.

Our daughter has attended SMCS for two years and she LOVES it here. She has grown so much in these two years academically, emotionally and spiritually. The teachers here truly love their students. We love the small class sizes! They make the learning environment that much nicer. If you're considering a private Christian school, check out SMCS!

Shades Mountain Christian School is a Christ centered high acedemic setting. The new purchase of Riverchase Middle School is proof God is at work in growing this great mission. Check out this school and spend time researching and you will see the difference. I have two kids here and could not be more impressed.
