I went there for 4 years and I loved it the teachers were th best and the ta would play sports with the kids

Dec 12, 2017
I was most certainly a student and do to the stigma of this school I feel the need to approach this topic off names sake hints the fake gmail. There's alot of stigma that acompanys this school.this is simply to inform parents who choose to send there kids here for whatever reason and aren't there all day to see the actual behavior of teachers. Nor are you since as principle your duties lie elsewhere. As a former student of this school I have to say the way they handle kids mine as well set them up for prison time I'm one of the lucky few who actually went here for 8 years then went on to college and got a degree 80% of my graduating class is in jail why well let's discuss why that is... Let's start by saying teaching a student or child to conform or be abused ie restrained by a teacher is a bad parenting move and you need to learn how to handle your child better if you think this place is your last resort all this is teaching them is a heightened fight or flight instinct that will not help them down the road it will make them cowardly or agressive They do not have to follow a protocal they really tell parents to sign a waiver that allows them to (restrain) a student who has become unruly should a timeout not work and if that dosent work they really do restrain but in a sadistic way they don't try and calm you they add pain to make you comply i watched students in the timout room hit the floor hard.. when Scott or Benny or Brian a multitude of techers that guess what came and went as frquently as caseworkers were there and the force used was worse than some police force I've seen.. Garren who was a teacher at the time of my attending is know the principle things have not changed in this school they use force manipulation and scare tactics to warp your child into complying please head this when your child comes home in tears or has marks on them they are really telling you the truth I know from a standpoint of overreactive bi polor or autistic or adhd or simply non comliant it can be easier to say here there your problem for the day but this school will not help them make progress it will teach them that they need to conform instead of cultivating a creative learning enviorment this school at a senior lvl learning was equivelant to freshman lvl in actual public schools so parent the education here is absolutely lacking I had to take 1 year of catch up courses in college to make sure I had everything understood before doing what was college lvl work. There is never a way out this school does everything they can not to graduate the students to an actual school (remeber there a private school) they get money from the state in higher quantity to each student with an iep there will always be a reason unless your child is an angel (but if he or she was you would not be contimplating this place nor reading my review) 8 years i went to this he'll and in my adult life not one aspect of this place has actually helped me... I am now a father happily married and successful in my day to day that is not do to this school that is do to college and a supportive wife and years of pushing my way back up to get the education i needed to supply a survivable income if you could only be a fly on the wall one day you'd see how bad they treat there students... Take a long hard look at your parenting your kids actual issues there meds even there doctors before you resolve to the idea that this place is the miracle fix it is fact that around 80% of my graduating class is in prison but I do belive a good number would have turned out diffrent with the above addressed... I have teachers that have since moved on that I've had drinks with as an adult who wish they had not spent the time they did at this school and say the same things I'm pleading parents read before actually entertaining the idea of this school and there barbaric treatment of the disabled or in my case fully capable with home issues that weren't addressed... do yourself a favor get your kids an education that will give them a future not set them up for a struggle...

I've worked in a couple different schools that help and support families and students in similar situations as those at The Aces. I will say though while The Aces staff is not perfect, they are a strong and we'll trained professional group of people that genuinely care about all their students. Of the the programs I've worked in they are the best. I have seen students at The Aces who were unsuccessful in the other two locations, but the support here at The Aces has proven them to be successful. Nice job Aces staff. If you are a parent of an exceptional child, as I am too, trust me when I say your child is safe with The Aces.

The staff and administration at ACES are amazing! They are dedicated to improving lives and making a difference. I am glad to hear that they are continuing to grow so that they can take on more students across the valley. I would highly recommend ACES to any other concerned parents or school districts. You wont regret going with ACES!
