Former student I believe that this school is by far the worst school ever. The administration accuses people of doing something they didn't do and they also hide behind the word Christian. I was bullied all the time when I was there and so was my little brother. If you want your child to be bullied definitely send them there. The only really good program they have is choir and they have a fantastic choir ( collegiate sounding choir )under the direction of Dr. Galen Clark she is surely the best teacher there. There sports program is absolutely horrible. There administration is Moral police like ( they take action against students outside of school. So if you did something bad outside of school and if that person contacts the school you will be disciplined for it.) I absolutely hated this school... ( PERIOD )

It's a great school that teaches students christian values and character. The teachers are very devoted to the students.

My kids have been going to Hillcrest Christian School, which became Heritage Christian School, since they were in Kindergarten. They are now in 6th and 8th grade. They love it, and we as parents love it! It is a caring, Christ-like environment with great academics from a biblical perspective! The administration and staff seeks to mentor the children to become Christ-like as well. I love all the staff. The more I came to know them, the more I have loved this school!! They love the Lord, and I know I can entrust my children to their care. They come alongside me as a parent and partner with me in raising my children in biblical principles. They also model Christ-like behavior to the students. The rules are enforced, but in a gracious, but firm manner. When the students do something bad (you can't avoid the occasional bad students, or the students who act up because of youthful immaturity), it is dealt with appropriately and graciously, but firmly by the administration. The high school campus has a lot of AP classes and the academics is great on both campuses. The homework load is reasonable. The choir is internationally recognized as a premier choir. They have traveled around the world. There are so many opportunities for children at this school. My children participate in the after school music program where they take piano lessons and participate in recitals. There are many other things they could participate in if they had time. The children have found great friends here!! The school emphasizes the 3R's, which are respect, reverence and responsibility. They are fully accredited. I cannot say enough good things about it.

I, Pat Holt, tend to be very critical of schools. Why? Because I've taught in the public schools of Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, as well as having been an administrator for years of a Christian school. While I was a Christian school administrator, I came to know both David Kendrick and Elissa MacLean. I've now known them for over 20 years, and can tell you that they have a heart for the Lord, for parents , and for children. Two of my six grandchildren live in this area and have attended HCS since Kindergarten. They are now in 6th & 8th grade. I've observed both the administration and staff in a variety of situations, and can tell you that they pray fervently prior to making decisions. Very often the decisions are difficult. It is my firm belief that these people "walk humbly, do justly and love mercy". I've seen it over and over and over again. No team could work harder. Whether it is a "red shirt" watching a child at recess, at lunch, or at Day Care, or the many times when the administrators are on "car line" duty, there is a joy and a caring that fills the atmosphere. I cannot think of a better school for my beloved grandchildren
