We absolutely adore The Laurel School! My son has been there since kindergarten and he is now a very successful fifth grader. Their individualized attention and specialized education model has been wonderful. The small class sizes are also hugely helpful. They have OT and Speech on campus and that is also great! We are so grateful to the laurel school and all it does

We had the most horrendous experience with this "school". It boasts to be primarily for children with learning disabilities and other impairments. My son was accepted after the 2 day trial. They were well aware of his learning difficulties and his frequent meltdowns and assured me that they knew how to properly handle those types of situations. WRONG. For the first 3 weeks, he was fine, but I noticed his demeanor at home was very depressive. After about a month, he would start to have a crying meltdown and they began to call me only an hour after I dropped him off for the day. I realize he is a challenging child with severe learning disabilities that can make him become extremely frustrated and have a meltdown. However, THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS AS WELL. Eventually we discovered he was being verbally and physically bullied and the school did absolutely nothing about it. What they did do was ask us to take an "out of school suspension" until my son no longer had his meltdowns. I did not want an expulsion on his record, so I withdrew him from Laurel mid-year. At that point, they would not allow me to be on their campus to retrieve his belongings. They would not allow my son to say good-bye to his teacher or peers. It was very traumatic for my son. We have been homeschooling ever since then. Much better option than this place.

My son was accepted by The Laurel School even though he was quite affected by autism. All the teachers were very helpful, and everyone reached out to include him on outings and all the holiday celebrations. He always tries to pick out his Laurel School sweatshirt to wear when he is at home, and he remembers all of his teachers and mentors very fondly.

This school broke our hearts...after having him at the school for 2 days he was excepted and we were welcomed to" the laurel family". We let the school he was going to know that we would not be returning. Our little 7 year old went to their summer camp for 1 whole day and 2 half days when we were informed rudly that he could come back, they are cold and cruel. STAY AWAY!!!!!
