Private school sharing location with closed district school. Great curriculum, good teachers, not as large as many. But definitely in top 10%.

I went to Carden Academy from K-8. It is a good school with plenty of opportunities and diversities. You should go there. -_- 👍🏼

We transferred our son to Carden Academy from a top rated public school at the beginning of third grade and couldn’t be happier with our decision. The school is very well managed with an impressive staff of teachers and administrators. The Carden philosophy and their teaching strategies have been extremely effective; it is easy to see why it works. In addition to a rich, well rounded curriculum, including foreign language and PE every day, the small class sizes make learning so much easier for all. We also appreciate the strong emphasis the school places on respect for others as well as yourself. We feel fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful school and highly recommend.

Carden is just the right mix of academics and culture. A very diverse student body and an educational approach that really emphasizes what the children need and at the pace that the children can handle - if they can handle more they get more. We have 2 children enrolled and have referred multiple other people. Contrary to what's stated, the students are far ahead of the public school curriculum but they don't exhibit signs of stress or pressure. My wife and I are both MIT alumni and our children are very motivated to work. Our favorite part of Carden actually their responsiveness not only to the kids needs but to ours - each and every incident that occurs at the school is addressed immediately, all teachers must respond to emails within 24 hours if a parent asks a question, and helping your fellow students is highly encouraged - even having older kids "mentor" the younger grades. I challenge anyone to find the level of 1-1 relationship that Carden gives our children.

My daughter is in first grade (completing K there last year) and I could not be more happy with the school. The small group work has allowed her to work at her level, and feel challenged yet supported. The special subject teachers are great. Every day I pick her up, I always ask her what was her favorite part of the day, and it is almost something different. The new song she learned in Spanish, the game they played in PE, the iPads they use on Fridays, the Alice in Wonderland song they learned in music, the drawing she made in computers, the book she picked at the library, etc. The school has a small environment and family feeling, yet has the facilities and space of a larger school. Tons of outdoor space for the kids to run around. I love that they get up to 30 minutes of playground time in the morning between drop off and start of school, plus 2 twenty minute recces times, and daily PE. The teachers and administration are very responsive. I had questions about how my daughter was doing in class, and immediately scheduled a meeting with the teacher and the director of education, where they walked through every question I had, and gave helpful suggestions on how to improve things for her. The school is so smoothly run, everything from morning drop off and pick up routine, teacher escorts from your car with umbrellas on rainy days, and special performances. We look forward to many more years at Carden Academy.
