Our son started Carden in January 2014 as a Kindergartner. When he started he knew only a few memorized words and no real math. At 6 years 5 months (four months after starting Carden) he scored high Ninety-percent in the National Standard Achievement test for all but one category and in the other category he scored a low 90. Carden has a very effective and unique teaching method developed in early 1900 by the founder May Carden. The method is somewhat like Common Core but with a stronger emphasize on comprehension and critical thinking. They have a unique method of teaching reading which allows kids to read words they haven't seen before. The classes are small: The first grade class has 10 kids. If you look at the tuition it may seem high. However, it includes a wonderful education AND before and after school care which is perfect for working parents. (It has easy access to HWY 80) Students who stay after around 4:30 do their homework at school! The teachers are exceptional and the grounds a well kept park where the students can play. They also have sports, PE, music, computer skills, music appreciation, French, drama and more.
